I first experienced the Everglades about 20 years ago. I did the typical thing, pulled into the first place I found, jumped on a packed boat with about 20 people, and 30 minutes later we were back at the dock. It was a memorable time no doubt. But I don't remember the name of the place or the people who took us out. Fast forward to now, I'm back on a family trip with another couple and we have 4 teenage kids. This time I was looking for something a little more unique. I wanted to experience the everglades, not just see them. I spoke to a handful of places and nothing really flt. I was about to give up and after over looking Mack's Fish Camp initially I decided to call. Immediately my conversation with Marshall was much more personal than the previous outfits. He mentioned he was the 4th generation owner and his enthusiasm shined as he spoke. He highly recommended we take the sunset trip and although it was pretty much the exact opposite of my plan I felt I needed to listen. I didn't feel like a number anymore, I felt like this dude I was talking to lived in the Everglades and wanted to show me his stomping grounds. I could feel the passion and I knew he was the exact person that I wanted for the trip. As we arrived at the entrance we turned onto a two mile dirt road, my wife and the kids became a bit skeptical, but I knew as we entered the foot of the camp this trip was gonna be badass. We were greeted by his wife and Pumba the pig. We took some pictures with all the killer swamp buggies sitting around and hung out on the dock while we waited for him to get the boat ready. He showed us a camp in the middle of the everglades which apparently was at one point an old Indian reservation, took us fishing, educated us, told us stories and we saw plenty of gators. Put it this way, we had 2 girls, 16 and 17 years old, who are not outdoor enthusiast... and they absolutely loved the trip. Marshall simply turned out to be an awesome person to meet, we felt like we made a new friend. I know it seems like the name doesn't quite fit the bill when your searching for a fan boat ride but do yourself a favor, don't over look Mack's Fish Camp. I cant thank you enough Marshall, the adventure was totally...
Read moreIf your looking for a PRIVATE/AUTHENTIC airboat ride of the Everglades by a TRUE Evergladesman, then look no further. His experience, and knowledge is unmatched! Him and his wife were extremely kind/sweet people. Just talking to them for a little bit will make you feel right at home. Ethel (the sweetest pup) and every little kitten running around add to the experience. Elvis, the resident croc is a part of their family at this point, and we got to see him up close! Next Marshall took us for the airboat tour of the Everglades, and what an experience that was. I will never forget yesterday, it was one of the best days of my life. He truly showed off his driving skills, performing cool tricks with the airboat - it was absolutely thrilling. He comes prepared with bug spray, and drinks! We went to a fishing spot he was very familiar with, and my brother caught a fish that then a crocodile (very familiar with Marshall and his boat came as soon as we arrived) ate right off the fishing line! What a moment, honestly, it was a once in a lifetime experience to see a crocodile stealing, and eating a fish from the side of the boat. Finally, he took us to the best spot to see the sunset. We were amazed (once again) at the beautifully painted skies, and how they reflected from the water. He very kindly, took pictures of my family and I on the boat. This is truly an experience we will treasure for ever. Thank you Marshal and family. Praying God continues to bless your business, because what you guys offer is truly a unique, authentic experience, and tour of the Everglades. If we ever get a chance to go back for another tour, we definitely will. Forget the comercial airboat rides, and choose this authentic/unique experience you’ll be talking about for years to come. Not to mention the...
Read moreI have nothing but good things to say about this place. We had issues getting our rental car and were not able to make our tour. We figured we would have to cancel and prepared to be charged accordingly. However Marshall was calm, patient, and super understanding. He rescheduled our tour on the same day and literally texted us "no stress". We really really wanted to get on an airboat and he made it happen! The vibes at this camp are chill and laid back, their staff is just so easy going and it made our experience amazing. This is not a corporate place, they arent looking to just make a quick buck, they are here to make sure you enjoy the everglades without any worries! We had Paul as our driver and he had some crazy stories and was overall hilarious. If you've never been on an airboat, get ready for an experience. Our tour started out with driving our airboat over the road to the swamp! Get ready for sharp turns, whipping through the grass, boating on what appears to be land, gators and vultures! Paul had lots of knowledge about the animals and you can tell that they care and respect the gators on their property, choosing to live in harmony with them rather than fear and anger. Marshall squeezed us in for the sunset tour and I cannot explain the peacefulness you feel as you sit with only the sound of nature, watching the beautiful sun colors go down over the horizon. We will definitely be back for the fishing tour with way more friends and hopefully a solid rental car haha. I highly recommend this place, they are here to make sure you have a good experience, why go to a large company when you can have personal one on one service. CHECK THIS...
