Resica Falls Scout Reservation — Hotel in Middle Smithfield Township

The camp staff and facilities cannot handle the quantity of scouts and adults it accepts to its summer program. The checkin to camp was 4+ hours when we arrived at our schedule arrival time and lacked appropriate communication. Their process made us rush information sessions and miss swim checks and there was no troop host or tour of camp. Salad Bar and Fruit Bar helped make up for over quantity of low quality food. Best adult trainings were at pool and lake. I have been to 9 different summer camps as an adult leader and the biggest challenge was the lack of enthusiasm of staff and lack of communication with scoutmasters. My troop has been coming here every other year for many years. On the off years we go to other summer camp programs. This place offers probably the most merit badge classes. Staff is super friendly. Chris Brenner has really developed a wonderful program. You can tell how much he loves his job by just watching him and his staff. Resica offers a very challenging COPE course. Absolutely stunning. The falls have a beautiful viewing area that is extremely clean. The staff is nice, and the campsites are clean. They have a number of clean cabins, and during our trip to Resica, I was amazed at how clean they were compared to other cabins. It was fairly easy to set up camp in tents, as the staff have built wooden tent bases around the camping areas, as well as easy access to firewood.
