This is my 3rd time camping here. Those first 2 times were the best. However this is the last time I'll ever camp here. When we have checked into our cabin everything was fine. Our family has picked out 4 cabins all next to eachother. Just to find out only 2 of the cabins where next to eachother. The rest of the cabins separated. When we have tried to consult the front desk they have said that our cabins which were supposed to be next to each other weren't available. Which meant that the cabins we all chose next to each other where occupied by other families. I was in one of the cabins that were next to each other. They have gave our cabins to other people. When we specifically asked for our cabins to be next to each other. However we decided to just stick with it. The cabins we rented were occupied by others who were discriminating us. They wanted nothing to do with us. As a person of color I don't feel safe in this campground. The service was bad. They couldn't solve our problem.

As you may know, pets are allowed. Our neighboring cabin left their dogs without leashes. Which later attacked my families dogs(family dogs with leashes on). Our neighboring cabin also kept making noise late midnight (12:30am). When the lights out and no noise rule was 11pm. Dogs have to be on leashes and no noise till 11pm. However none of our neighbors followed the rules. Which resulted in not going back there.

Tip: If you're a family coming to rent cabins here next to eachother. Do not expect to be next to each other because they give your cabins to others. Even if you specifically...

We have been vacationing at this campsite for many years. This year was the first time that we were not happy with the site. We booked reservations the day after Memorial Day because we know that there aren't many people staying and it'll be fairly quiet. First of all, they charge an extra $20.00 for locking in the cabin that you are already reserving, which I think is a scam and not nice. Then we were being woken up every morning around 6:30 am by a wood chipper and other loud machinery. On top of that, Wednesday morning there were pieces of debris hitting our cabin because the wood chipper was located about 20 feet away. Plus, it was pouring raining out, so we couldn't go anywhere to get away and had to listen to the loud machinery all morning. When we checked out, the lady asked me how everything was and I told her not good and explained what happened the three days we were there and she said she didn't have any knowledge of that happening, as that was not scheduled to be done and that it might have been the golf course behind the site. I told her that the wood chipper was on their property and parked right behind our cabin and debris was hitting the cabin, so I'm not sure who it was then and why they were doing that. Anyway, we are not happy with the result of her dismissing it and will not be staying at this campsite anymore, unfortunately. I normally do not post reviews, however I want to make anyone staying there aware of our experience, so they know and may want to stay somewhere else instead. So much for a nice quiet...

Ponderosa Campground was a really nice getaway from the everyday hectic life schedule. It’s “glamping” and it’s finest. I’m a hiker, and real camper but for the ladies and kiddos, this place and “Glamping” was beyond perfect. They have two playgrounds. Volleyball court/net. Basketball net. Also directly next to a VERY nice golf course. They have a huge connect 4 set underneath the canopy by the front desk. I also have to mention how helpful and extremely sweet the lady behind the desk was. Her instructions to the cabin, campground policies and even food recommendations were spot on accurate. Exactly what some ppl need when they’re out of town. My family and I come together for camping once a year during Halloween and I am happy to say this place will be our go to. The cabins APPEAR small from the outside- we had a CD(cabin deluxe) which still appeared very small upon pull-up. However, it was way bigger than expected. A decent size bathroom. Key word- bathroom. What camping has bathrooms in the cabin? Shower in the cabin as well. A Queen size bed as well as bunk beds (twin size). The mattresses were thin but come on, what do u really expect. We had a fridge, a TV, and microwave. We had to bring sheets and pillow cases. I will say bring your own firewood if you have any. (Although they do sell some at the office for $9 or 2 bundles for $14. This place was great and the kids loved it. We’ll be back for sure! They have seasonal, all year round and weekenders. Minimum is...

Super clean, great staff and maintenance, close to the beach and market. The chickens and goats were super cute. We love getting up early to get the eggs. The pool was clean and the camp wasn't crowded. But best of all at a decent price. The cabins came with a shower, toilet, hot water and A.C. with remote. Is a 1 small room with a bunk bed and queen bed, small table 4 chairs and a small refrigerator, a tiny tv with cable and control remote we had 6 people so we used an inflatable mattress for the 2 extra people. The camp provides a broom a dust pan, 1 roll of toilet paper. Outside there's a wood table and fire ring per cabin. I highly recommend bringing an extension cord if you need to connect anything outside, as there no electric outlets on the outside of the cabin. We bought a small gas stove and a small grill. We stayed at cabin b1, is right next to the pool and I highly recommend it for people with kids, because you get some light at night and you can keep an eye on your kids from the cabin while they are in the pool, also there's a bathroom next to the pool that is super clean.

This past weekend, October 19th, I took my grandkids for their first camping trip. We've been at this campground several times during the summer. After this weekend, the fall has become my favorite time of the year to camp at this particular campground. The staff at this location goes above and beyond to make sure you feel welcomed. I love the fall activities planned for the kids, they had pumpkin painting in the afternoon, followed by trick or treating at 5pm and ending with a fun hayride. The kids loved it so much, they couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had this entire weekend. It was a chilly weekend the fire pit was a must for the evening, making smores with the kiddos was awesome too. If you're considering a camping trip with your family, give Ponderosa a visit. Friendly staff, comfortable cabins. You won't regret coming here.
