Had a great time. We didn't partake in any activities because I had so many fun camp meals planned for my kids. They had 60's night (60's outfits) this weekend. I wasn't there, but they were jammin! Maroon 5, Beyonce, 50 Cent, Halsey, some country songs, some old school songs, it sounded LIT! 😆 I accidentally blew up some hiding spots with the flashlight during a group of kids' Mission in Verdansk Manhunt game. My bad guys! 😇 This was such a relaxing trip. Great place to get away!! My little ones didn't want to leave 😔 But we will be back after the pool opens this weekend!! Already booked my next trip 👍🏽 UPDATE: This second trip was awesome too. My kids had so much fun at the pool. This time we mingled and talked with people and I must say, the vibe here is amazing. EVERYBODY waves hello, people are friendly, helpful, considerate. My tent camping neighbor went out of his way to help me with my campfire. He stuck around for about 30 mins digging out ashes, making teepees for the wood. Thanks Chris 👍🏽 My son was sitting on a pool lounger while I was in the water with my daughter. A bug flew on his chair and it scared him. Two ladies rushed over to him and swept away the bug and then waved to me, "He's alright!" I was so thankful not to have to get out of the pool with my daughter who was having a blast - swearing she could swim (with her floatie life jacket). 👍🏽 While standing outside the camp store, a man walked out with the most awesome looking plate of nachos. I said, "Wow!" when he walked past me. Do you know he went back inside and bought me a plate of nachos?! ❣️🥲 Standing outside my car in front of the camp store (literally just standing there) two different passers by stopped and asked me if I was okay or needed help. They treat people like family here! I am in love with this...
Read moreMy husband and I just came back from our weekend away at Boulder Woods and we had a great experience! Most of the sites are seasonal RV sites, so the majority of the people there are regulars. This definitely is NOT your "flight by night" operation with drunken teenagers and nuisance troublemakers-the owners know what they are doing and they are doing it well. The owners are very nice people and you can tell that the campground is their "baby". They ensure that the kids have plenty of activities and in the words of one of the owners "when the kids are happy, the parents are happy"! We actually spent the weekend without kids this time, but we can't wait to go back in 2 weeks with the kiddos. The campsite itself is very clean, the bath houses are well kept. The showers have a button you have to press (every 3 minutes or so) but my only gripe is that you can't control the temperature. The campground has 3 pools-one for adults only (woohoo!), one for adults/teens and one baby pool. The pools are generally small, but they are adequate in size (although we went during the weekend that was not overly hot, so the pools may get crowded on very hots days). The campground has some tent sites which are primitive (no electric or water). We have a pop up and really wanted water and electric so we got an RV site. The sites are neat and clean with fire pits. The campground store is very well stocked for anything you may forget. The all you can eat breakfast on Sunday was delicious. At the end of our weekend away we actually felt a little guilty for not bringing the kids.....but we will be back...

Your seasonal camper Carrie is going to run all your weekend campers and maybe more out if you allow her!
Yesterday she took it upon herself to berate another guest regarding the pool rules. She did so in such a loud and disrespectful manner three other parties(including mine) left the pool area out of discomfort. Carrie seemed pleased to have the pool for herself and her party after the incident occurred.
Mind you this is not the first time she has made me uncomfortable enough to leave the shared pool area. At the end of last season, I chalked it up to a bad day. My autistic 4 year old son ran from one side to the other - very much against pool rules - before I had the opportunity to address him in a manner that would be effective for him, Carrie took it upon herself to repeatedly yell no running from across the pool. Now as an adult I don't address others children, especially not strangers or to discipline them. Maybe for her children yelling at them works - not so much for mine. We quickly left, genuinely shocked Carrie felt that was appropriate.
I understand us campers play a huge role in keeping the grounds safe and enjoyable by following the rules!! Politely reminding other adults of the rules and regulations if necessary is what we should be doing to keep this camp ground great. If you allow campers to act as Carrie continues, an enjoyable environment may never...
