What an experience. Go anywhere else but here.

I tried to book two tent sites but the lady said they don’t take one night reservations. Said to call back in the morning and that they have plenty of spots remaining. Called back in the morning and she said she’d hold them for us. Why couldn’t we do that the day before?

The next day we show up there and wait 30 min for two groups in front of us to be helped. Finally get help (it was 6:45pm now, we were told the office closes at 7pm) I try to just book two tent sites. The lady kept saying we could maybe fit two tents in one spot and they might be muddy and ultimately talking in circles and insisting we look at the sites first even though I told her we would take two sites that were available sight unseen.

Finally just said ‘okay I will look at them’. So my friends hop in the bed of the truck and we take off to look at the sites. Super unimpressed by the tent sites. Knee high grass, very wet and muddy, and they were poorly designed and spaced out.

Doesn’t matter, we need somewhere to sleep, we decide on the sites and head back to the office. (The same sites I had already told her I’d book before I looked at them)

Now this is where I went wrong and I’ll gladly be the first to admit fault here. I was doing 11mph on a section of road in the campground. My bad. I was trying to beat the rain and just settle down for the night, but no excuse for the speed. Apologies to anyone there who felt threatened by my reckless speed.

But unfortunately it was too late, the ball was in motion, a dollar store Mr. Lahey visually assessed my speed from afar and determined I was a serious danger to the campground. He looped around to the parking spots and stood in front of my truck to stop me. Not sure how he beat me there considering my blinding speed.

He started off the confrontation being quite aggressive and rude. He very quickly told me what I did wrong. Speeding and having people in the bed, (people in the bed of the truck didn’t seem to be a posted rule from what I could tell just one I should’ve assumed?) but that’s fine, I very quickly apologized and said that I shouldn’t have been doing that.

Apparently that was too much or the wrong thing to say because he claimed my attitude was out of control, and despite all my apologies he continued to berate me and my group. He went on about how he worked there and we wouldn’t be getting a camp site tonight etc. he was being aggressive, puffing out chest, yelling, constantly escalating it instead of talking to me calmly like any reasonable adult and especially “professional” would do.

My attitude was only apologetic and expressing that we needed a place to stay for the night.

But nope he kept berating us and escalating the situation even after I told him we would be leaving multiple times. I was literally walking to my vehicle to leave while he’s still shouting insults and following me closely. The security guard thankfully showed up to escort us out.

It was getting kind of scary because he was getting more and more agitated and people started to show up because of his yelling. I was concerned he might get aggressive.

Ultimately it worked out for the best. We ended up staying at a much more relaxed and much less “culty” campground called ‘Moyers Lake’. I’d recommend going there instead.

And don’t tell Mr. Lahey but I saw my speedometer hit 6 mph when I was following the security guard out of the campgrounds.

Edit: Someone chose to reply to my review (Cheeseburger Randy himself?) and straight up lied about what happened so that I look like the bad guy! I absolutely did not flip anybody off and the only time I remember cussing was at the very end when you guys were trying to prevent me from leaving. So that’s pretty cool! Not only will they give you a bad experience they’ll come on here and lie about it!! Big props. Save your money. Go...

I want to give this place as fair of a review as possible. I don't believe in embellishing simply because I was disappointed by my expectations. So taking my feelings out of the equation, here goes. We just got back from a 3 day Memorial Day weekend stay with our travel trailer at a full hookup site.

First of all, I read a lot of reviews about rude staff. My experience was the opposite. Both over the phone when booking and in person when checking in, the staff in the office was very nice and polite. I had no interactions with security or any other employees. Just the people in the office. I saw the security guy driving around and I did see him say something to someone about the speed limit. They have a couple of nice brand new buildings. A pavilion in the back and some sort of clubhouse with an arcade toward the front. Looked nice enough from the outside but I didn't go in. They also have a small convenience store with some thoughtful necessities and ice cream and some toys for the kids. I did not see any of the facilities (showers, bathrooms, laundry, etc.) Our power, water, and wifi worked great (we have a wifi extender so we never really have a problem. The sewer hookup at our side had a threaded cap so that was nice for hooking up our elbow.

That's were the good part of the review ends. The roads through the campground were in need of fresh gravel. It's been pushed into the dirt and muddy. No potholes that I could see but needed to be freshend up. It was impossible to walk my dog without him coming back with filthy paws. The sites had no clear definition of boundaries to them. The sites need new gravel too. Weeds growing through all over the place. RVs were pointed in all different directions. At most RV parks you're usually next to another rv and if there's another row, it's separated a bit. The only thing you see is the drivers side of another RV. However here when I walked out my door I could see 4 or 5 different peoples fire rings. Not much privacy. Just seemed unorganized. Lots of electrical lines up in the trees. They seem to zigzag all over the place and didn't look too good. There were areas where there was a bunch of the campgrounds equipment and big vehicles and they didn't do much to hide it.

Now onto the seasonal sites. The campground is mostly seasonal. In their own rules, it states seasonal RVs can't be more than 10 years old. They do not seem to enforce that. There are several very old RVs that are in poor condition. Some people kept their sites nice but most looked unkempt. Some even looked like junk yards. Overall, visually unappealing. I did not have any negative interactions with the seasonal campers but I didn't go out of my way to interact with anyone. Take from thay what you will. Read other reviews if you wish about that subject.

If you do stay here, make sure you research the activities for your stay. They do a good job of posting them. There was a bonfire and a DJ Sunday night and they played loud music until 11pm. Our site was close to it and we go to bed early and so does our 6 month old. It's not a complaint because I was made aware of it. Just 11pm for loud music seems a bit late in my opinion for a campground.

Again, I don't want to trash the place or make outrageous accusations, just a fair assessment. I hope the ownership takes this as constructive criticism for improvement. Overall I would not visit again until serious improvements...

While tent camping here overnight, I parked at the admin building and showered at 9:00 pm. My campground 'pass' was hanging from my rear view mirror and I was parked directly under a street light.

After showering I was driving a two hundred yards to my site, a PA state trooper Montebello came flying though the campground, stopped me and asked if I was at the admin building.

They said they had gotten a call that there was a suspicious car at the admin building. Two other troopers came by and spent 50 minutes harassing me, looking for any thing they could charge me with. Including an unsanitary breathalyzer device. They could find nothing and so could make no charge.

Turns out the caller had said they were staying at a site, that was actually empty due to flooding when the call was made.

I filed an harassment claim with PA state troopers, but the state lets the barracks' supervisor handle the case, which means they whitewash the case and find no problem. The night supervisor said he would arrest me if I came in, just because I called it harassment.

One of the full time residents from the old dirty run down trailers, clearly made this call with false information.

The next morning I talked to a lady, who had her wash in the machines as I was in the shower. She said she "thought there had been a murder the way the first trooper came flying through the campground at 60 mph."

I called the campground owner during the event, and he lived 30 miles away and could not help.

Unless you are a local wanting to get drunk in your golf cart, stay away from this campground.

We went looking for a last minute spot and they had one available. We were skeptical at first after reading the reviews but figured we would give it a shot. So we got a decent sized lot next to the play area which was nice bc we have a 6yr old. We were also located near their activities area which on a couple of nights played music until 11pm and some locals were being loud as well. We didn't mind it to much. For being right outside of Quakertown, you still feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. We would go again just to get away for the weekend.

Our first year as seasonal campers here. The campground is great. Lots of things for the kids to do (pool, playground(s), bike riding, playing with other kids & scheduled activities by the campground). The sites are also very nice too, perfect mix of rustic feel that is well maintained. The security is great at keeping the riff raff out. The staff is always welcoming. The other campers have all been great & very welcoming. Our family looks forward to spending the weekends there as much as we can. Overall, great local gem with no complaints.

We’ve been camping at Quackerwoods for a few years now. We go as often as possible. We were out there last in April and will be in there this weekend as well. Everyone is always friendly from staff to other campers. The sites sizes differ. We have our preferences. Our kids vary in age from 5-18 and we always travel with their grandparents as well. Everyone has a good time. From the nightly activities (weekends) to the option of things to do in the area. Can’t wait to be back
