We’ve been going to Christmas at Mustard Seed Hill for years but after this year I am not sure we will go back. This year it seemed much more commercial than in previous years with all the sponsorship signs. And there were many more fences that interfered with pics. But the worst thing was the campfire experience. This was the 4th year we booked this $98 experience and in past years this has been a very memorable experience. But this year it was awful. First our site was dirty ( hot dog and marshmallow residue from previous users on the toasting sticks, trash leftovers from previous users). The food provided was substandard compared to previous years: fewer hot dogs provided, chocolate not suitable for smores. We asked for a trash receptacle like in previous years but were told to just leave the trash in the basket either the food. Finally our fire almost went out. Read moreMy family visited the Christmas display and gingerbread house competition display. It t was well worth the modest $5 admission and one hour drive. The lights and decor were beautiful, they had traditional music playing throughout the campus. There was a nice gift shop of hand crafted items, a tent serving hot beverages, and a food tent. They had propane gas fireplaces set up so you could eat or drink outside and enjoy the ambiance. The gingerbread houses ranged from the hilarious and traditional, to incredible astoundingly ornate masterpieces. There was a $5 donation to see them, well worth it for sure. The crowd ranged from families, couples young and old, and everything between. The excitement of the children and just seeing folks of all kinds enjoying the Christmas season was an uplifting evening...
