Y’all…this water is so refreshing you’ll forget how hot it is 🙌 It stays a cool 65-70 degrees year round. It’s best enjoyed by parking your chairs and an umbrella, tie a float to a tree, float on tubes or kayaks. This is *NOT* an alligators natural habitat and is perfectly safe, clean, cold spring water. *our glamping sites have AC* #thewanderingpath #coldwatercreek #miltonflorida #naturetiktok #glamping #camping #unplug #reset #wanderwithus #dogsoftiktok

I travel with 4 children, ages 12, 8, 3, and 1. My kids are all very used to camping, but they are still children. We are fortunate enough to camp approximately 50 days per year, and have, for the last 5 years or so. I give this context so when I explain the following, hopefully I don't come across as whiny : I recognize that not all campgrounds, especially private campgrounds, are appropriate for children. This is exactly why I reached out to the camp host prior to booking to ask if we would be welcome, and I was told sure - we just needed to book site 8, because it's the only site large enough for my family. We make a point of going over the rules with the kids so they know what to expect. In all of the time my kids have been camping, we have NEVER received a single complaint. Quiet hours here are 10 PM - 7 AM, with a request to be "as quiet as possible" at all times. Let me lay out our arrival here, before I get into the issue : We arrive at 4 PM. Our site is a hike in site, so we juggle as well as we can and we have to make 4-5 trips from the truck to the campsite. During this time we are not quiet but we were not loud. We were at a reasonable noise level for 6 people hiking gear out to a campsite and getting it set up. Our campsite is set up by 5, we leave and head into town to get dinner. We arrive back to camp at 7ish as the sun is starting to set. We pile into the tent for board games, and we hang out in the tent with our kids until the lanterns die around 9. At no point of this was there any un-responded to yelling or otherwise loud noises. We were in our tent playing board games at a normal speaking volume. At 9, myself and 3,8,12 walk up to the bathhouse for final bathrooms, and then walk back. (1 is already asleep, so no screaming babies here.) We get back to the tent, everyone climbs into sleeping bags and all are asleep before 9:45. I woke up at about 2 am and left the tent to grab water, and then went back to sleep. The next time a single word was spoken on our site, was after 7:30. We woke up and had breakfast, and then went down to the water to play. Then we received a text from the host, asking us to quiet down, because we're too loud in the creek. No problem! Honestly, I don't even think it was the kids, I think it was us adults trying to stop the kids from drowning each other, but absolutely, I apologized for the disturbance.. but the text also accused us of 2 additional things: having set off a car alarm on purpose, and apparently there was a man sitting in the truck? "It's not a good first impression for guests." When I responded that it didnt sound like it was us, she told me that someone had pointed out our truck and said it was us. My husband's autistic. If the truck alarm was going off with him near it, you'd be far more likely to find him curled into the fetal position crying than anything. She also said SHE hadn't heard the alarm. Neither did we, so it either didn't happen, or happened when we were gone to dinner. We were told that ALL guests had complained about how loud we were the night before. This was confusing to me, because board games and bed before quiet time doesn't exactly equal "louder than a car alarm" because remember - we couldn't hear that car alarm from camp, so if there are people on the other side of the camp claiming they could hear my children all night, the logic would dictate that my children were louder than a car alarm. When I expressed confusion and mentioned that people were out at the sandbar after midnight and maybe they were who was heard, the host doubled down saying that she "heard us all night and in the early morning hours." Ma'am, heard us WHAT? Roll over in our sleeping bags? We were ASLEEP.

I saw no point in arguing, as at this point it was obvious that we were not welcome, and that we would be blamed for anything that went wrong regardless of our involvement. We decided to abandon the remainder of our reservation and...

I have been fortunate enough to stay here a few times! Mostly because, after the first encounter my soul just yearns for going back! Every single visit to The Wandering Path in Milton has been an absolute breath of fresh air. Within just 30 minutes of stepping onto the property, I start to feel more centered and grounded—it's magical! The stress of daily life just seems to melt away. Sitting on the pristine white sandy beach, listening to the soothing sounds of Cold Water Creek, is just heavenly. The water is refreshing and beautiful, and I find it almost impossible to describe how revitalized I feel every time I leave, although always a bit sad to depart.

The accommodations here are fantastic. I love how the yurts are set up—having AC and a comfy bed while being nestled in the woods offers the perfect blend of comfort and nature. The privacy is remarkable too; each site is spaced well enough apart that you never feel crowded by other guests. Oh and gosh enjoying a fire at night under the trees and bright stars is my favorite!

And what can I say about Amanda? She's the best host ever! Amanda brings The Wandering Path to life with her warmth and welcoming nature. Every interaction with her has been a joy, and bonus* I always seem to learn something new and wonderful from her. Her passion for this place and her golden heart are evident in every detail. She just has the best most positive, welcoming vibe! I really think she’s super excited to greet each guest!

For anyone looking to escape the crazy, reconnect with nature, or just find a peaceful retreat, The Wandering Path is the perfect getaway. Trust me, you’ll leave feeling better than when you arrived, and eager to return....

A Tranquil Escape at The Wandering Path

Looking for a place to truly unwind and reconnect with nature? The Wandering Path offers a tranquil environment meticulously crafted for ultimate relaxation. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the host has prioritized creating a serene and welcoming atmosphere.

Despite being told they were fully booked, the design and layout of The Wandering Path allowed for a surprising sense of solitude. It truly felt like a personal retreat, even with other guests potentially present.

One of the standout features was the thoughtfully maintained amenities. The bathhouse was impeccably clean and the availability of hot showers was a welcome comfort. Similarly, the kitchen area was spacious and spotless, equipped with fans that effectively kept the heat and any potential bugs at bay, making meal preparation a breeze.

However, the true gems of The Wandering Path were undoubtedly the beach and creek. Spending time floating along the cool, spring-fed water was incredibly soothing. The gentle currents and natural surroundings provided the perfect antidote to everyday stress, truly washing away any worries. These natural spaces became the heart of our visit, offering endless opportunities for peaceful enjoyment and a feeling of being completely alone with nature.

Overall, my experience at The Wandering Path was exceptional. It offered everything I needed for a relaxing getaway and more. The fact that it felt so private even when fully booked is a testament to the thoughtful design. I wholeheartedly recommend The Wandering Path to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat where they can unwind and immerse themselves in nature's...
