We got there early and stopped by the Inn. Angela told my husband our room wasnât ready yet. We said no worries, we were playing golf and would check in after. She told my husband have a good time at golf. About 3:30 we went to check in and Justin told my husband that we werenât in the system. When my husband asked what do you mean the young lady earlier said out room wasnât ready but nothing about no room. Justin then told my husband he was just a moment away from calling the police. My husband said for what ??? Losing my reservation? Justin got Angela who also threatened to call the police while we were asking if there was any room. They reluctantly offered us a room that was not one we reserved because supposedly they were full. Justin said they sent us an email but it âbouncedâ. When my husband asked why nobody called when the email bounced Angela stated that wasnât her job. My husband eventually went to the lobby to get their names and indicated he wanted to be sure he had them right when writing the bad review of the resort, Angela yelled at him to go to âhis roomâ and actually called the police when we had done absolutely nothing. If they had said anything about being sorry they were completely booked when we came by at 11 we would have never even come back. To top it off not once did anyone apologize about cancelling our reservation that has been in place for a month. Donât drive out to the middle of nowhere without co firming your reservation is valid. By the way⌠picture included is a supposed âfullâ inn parking lotâŚ. Approximately 30 rooms⌠8 cars is a full inn? Keep in mind one of those cars was ours⌠and probably one at least...
Read moreFront staff was a bit gruff at first but warmed up and accommodated our request (we were traveling with another) not to put us in side by side rooms. And eventually became more friendly. |2. Front desk staff didnât give us the lay of the land. Ie explaining resort, pool etc details. Or a map (apparently there was one). It was like if you asked the right question youâd get a response. |3. AC worked somewhat adequately but didnât get super cold bed was a bit hard pillows flat. |4. Patio seat cushions need replacing |5. We had called in advance of our stay -however staff never told us that restaurant reservations were needed (full and booked when we got there) or offer to make us an advanced reservation. Their website showed spa open but was closed, that there was NO pool service and note that you should plan to bring your own towel and ice chest. |6. Restaurant is more more like a 19th hole bar prob because of the golf course. It closes early. And there is limited to no table service at peak times - in fact we had to place our dinner order at the bar. Menu is very limited especially at breakfast (especially healthy options). Pass on the ribeye $32 was tough, thin and way over priced bar is pretty well stocked |7. No room service. |8. While SOME of the staff (limited) wore masks most didnât not and I didnât see any sanitizing of tables and bar while I was there. ||Would we be back. Yes now that we have the lay of the land. But again staff and website should provide a FAQ so new folks are aware...
Read moreWe had a lovely vacation over the Labor Day weekend at the Cliffs Resort! I had planned a surprise 60th birthday weekend for my husband and it went off perfectly due to the amazing staff at the resort. |Our room looked right out over the lake. It was a gorgeous view!|The staff is amazing. I would personally like to recognize Brittany, Ellie, Peggy and Christa at the Cliffs Inn. They are so kind and professional, and made our stay just perfect. If we needed anything or had any questions, they were always right there to help!! Thank you all again!|Our room and bathroom was clean and well stocked. The King sized bed was firm and the sheets were very soft! Nice pillows too. It had a nice coffee maker, a coffee bar and small refrigerator. Just perfect for our needs. It's cricket season this time of year in Texas and the staff did an AMAZING job keeping them cleaned out of the room and the building. |The Chaparral Grill was a great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Clean, spacious with an attached bar and outside patio eating area. They had a delicious buffet for breakfast over the weekend and the dinners were delicious as well! I recommend the pork medallions. |The Pro shop was large, clean, and well stocked with anything you might need for golf. The staff in the Pro shop is terrific as well!! They helped me so much with setting up the surprise tee times for my husband. A grateful shout-out to Margie, Nathan, Brittany (on the beverage cart) and...
