We’ve been coming to Mill Creek Resort since 2008 and continue to come back every year. We originally found MCR when searching for dog friendly places near Lassen. But we loved it so much we’ve been coming back year after year even as the dogs have passed on and the human kids have joined our family.
We’re from the Bay Area and appreciate getting into the woods and escaping from our busy life. The cabins can be considered rustic to some who live a life of luxury, but it’s a great place to relax in a serene natural setting. The cabins are well stocked and feel like home.
Having enjoyed our trips with the former owners, Joe and Jillian and the crew now have taken the Resort to the next generation of stewardship. Their love for the land is apparent in all they offer. While we’re all sad that the restaurant has not been open for a few years, I can respect their business decision and appreciate their support of and recommendations to neighboring business.
We love to come in winter and just get out of our cabin front door and play in the snow, walk to the seasonal end of the road, and just generally explore the neighborhood of Mill Creek and the surrounding area. We can’t recommend this place enough to anyone who loves getting into the woods (with limited cell coverage and no TVs) but still likes a mattress...
Read moreWe just returned from a 3 night stay at Mill Creek Resort. We had a wonderful time. It’s not really a resort, but a charming and rustic campground. We stayed in Cabin #1. The cabin has two bedrooms and sufficient space for 4+ people, even though there were only two of us. The restaurant and store were closed, as we stayed Tues-Friday. That was as expected. If you stay, you should bring all your food and supplies, as there is nothing nearby to fill in gaps if you forget to bring something - not a problem for us. There also is no nearby gas station, so advance preparation is important. There were a couple of downsides: Cabin #1 is near the main lodge, and there is a glare from the parking lot light which is on all night. We purchased 3 bundles of wood at $7 each online with our reservation. They were supposed to be at our cabin upon arrival, but weren’t. When we went to retrieve them ourselves, outside the lodge, we noticed that the price was $5 a bundle - a bit annoying, but not enough $s involved to make an issue of it. Just buy your wood when you are there, rather than online in advance. But overall we enjoyed our stay very much, and look forward to returning someday - though we would select Cabin 2 or 3, next time. Thank you to the management/owners for making our stay relaxing...
Read moreSo many wonderful things to say about this special place! I've spent countless hours at Mill Creek Resort, from weekend camping trips and women's retreats to one of the most beautiful moments, my best friend’s wedding on the property. Every experience I’ve had here has been absolutely magical.
The property itself is stunning, with my favorite spot being down by the creek on a hot summer day, pure serenity. In the winter, the cabin rentals offer the coziest, most magical vibe, especially when the snow starts falling. It’s like stepping into a peaceful winter wonderland.
When my friend got married at Mill Creek, the staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, not just for the couple but for every guest. Their warmth and attentiveness made the experience even more special.
For women looking for a deeply transformative and heartwarming experience, I can’t recommend the InnerShine Retreat enough. It’s a powerful gathering held here every year, and the setting at Mill Creek only enhances its magic.
I absolutely love Mill Creek and will continue choosing it time and time again for my trips to the Lassen area. Whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation, or a place to create lifelong...
