Arrowhead Breezy Lodge, Neola IA - I had lots of questions and park management was great about returning my calls. To get to the lodge, drive through the beautiful park up a slight slope- it’s on the right. There is no signage on the lodge so an event sign is helpful. It is handicap accessible and has ample parking – a smaller paved lot, and very large gravel lot. There is a nice shower house next door. There are three external doors with two leading to the deck. The deck is beautiful with maybe 6-7 picnic tables. The park reservation indicates a firepit but there is none. You can bring your own raised pit if you want to place it in the lot but the grass cannot be damaged. A better idea may be to use an existing pit down by the lake. There are trash cans on the deck and two inside with ample trash bags. The main room is a very nice large room with windows, cement floor, fireplace and an adjoining kitchenette, a single lavatory and utility closet. There is no serving counter and the kitchenette is not visible from the main room. There are 14 banquet tables and chairs. Tables: 6 at 6 ft. and 8 at 8 ft. We used 6 of the 8Ft tables for serving and used 8 tables for guest seating. We were able to seat 40 guests comfortably but we used a lot of the space for food/event tables so you could probably seat more inside. The kitchenette has a refrigerator, microwave, oven, about 5 ft of counterspace. Bring your own cleaning supplies: dish soap, dishcloths, kitchen cleaners, hand soap, toilet cleaner, paper towels. The A/C worked great but was a little loud. We turned if off momentarily if we had a speaker. They have made many improvements to Arrowhead Park and it was very clean and well maintained. The lodge worked great for our event and we appreciate having such a lovely facility in the area.

Absolute gem for a quick stop or a full stay. We were heading west and decided to stop in after finding it on the map as one of the nearby options. Was a bit worried about first come first served but there were plenty of spots when we rolled in around 4pm. Clean, well maintained, and far enough away from the highway that there was very little noise. People seem super friendly and all of the guests were well behaved. Like us, many of them needed sleep on their way somewhere else. Pro tip - head to the furthest spots away from check-in. They're the quietest, have full hookups and are newly installed. You're not getting a lot of privacy as the spots are close together, but it's rare to find a new, well maintained place, with full hookups for $30 a night. Electric only sites are $20.

Spent the weekend using one of the RV sites on the property. There were 30 AMP electric hookups at the sites. The sites were very spacious and allowed plenty of room. There was a water fill station and a dump station near the entrance to the park. You paid $15 per night for the site and used a drop box to pay. There was no way to tell if there were sites available until you got back to were they were, but you had an hour after arrival to drop your paperwork back off at the drop box. We did a little park exploring around the lake and enjoyed seeing some wildlife. It was cold when we were there so we didn't get a chance to check out everything the park has to offer in warmer months, but we had a great time and look forward to being able to go back out soon.

Just returned from a weekend camping trip with friends and felt like some may want a heads up before heading to try out this county park. Especially if you are tent camping.||First, the campsite pricing is a bit confusing and discouraging. The county charges $15.00 for an RV. $10.00 for a tent. Most campgrounds we have camped in (actually all of them) have allowed one tent per RV site. Also, usually the tent rate is per site not per number of tents. Arrowhead charges per RV and per tent. It may not seem too bad until you camp in a non electric tent site, have the parents in one tent and kids in another, and realize that you are now paying more than the RVs with electric hook-up per night.? Our two night camping trip cost us $50.00 for two nights as we had a camper and one tent. Friends didn't realize the per tent rule and let their children invite friends. They had to pay a whopping $30.00 per night for just tents. ||Second, there is one shower house for the entire campground. It is located next to the lodge that is rented out to groups and very close to the campground loop that does not allow tents. The loops that allow tents and RVs have luxurious vault toilets with one water spigot to use for any water needs. Not necessarily a complaint on that - just doesn't add any positive points to the park as a whole.||Campground was loud with partying well into the early morning hours with our daughters being harassed by drunk men on their hike to the shower house before bed. ...

We just got back from here and, frankly, we are not going again. First glance? It is BEAUTIFUL here! Then you get set up and have to go to the bathroom to find that NONE of the bathroom houses have anything beyond a permanent port-a-potty in a building without so much as a single, dangling light bulb, let alone a sink. There is the shower house, which has two stalls/one stall one urinal and each has one shower, NONE OF the toilets work correctly. Warm water though so I guess that's a plus. The water smells ghastly and there were tons of dead fish floating around randomly and I'm pretty sure there was a piece of fecal matter floating in the water by the bridge. Not very clean, let alone sanitary. Only redeeming factors are the wonderful staff/grounds guy who was driving around and the fact that the fish were biting like crazy. If you're going RV camping and don't mind smell of the water then this place will be awesome! Going tent camping and actually need to use the facilities here? Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. We're going to our favourites and putting this one down as...
