Super 8 by Wyndham Missouri Valley — Hotel in Missouri Valley

I posted this review yesterday, but somehow it magically disappeared. I wonder why??? After posting this review, the owner stated that I cancelled my reservation the day of the reservation at 7:00 p.m. This is not true at all. I cancelled the day before my reservation to give them notice not to hold the room. But, they went ahead and charged me for the room one day before, and I never signed any paperwork. Below is my original review. The management committed fraud by charging my credit card without authorization for asking to cancel a reservation because of an emergency situation. Expedia cancelled my reservation with no problem, but when I called the hotel, they absolutely refused. The management was extremely rude on the phone and would not let me talk without interrupting. I would highly recommend not staying there for any reason even if it was the last place on earth. I have family and friends who have lived in this area all of their lives, and I will notify everyone of them not to recommend this hotel. Quality of services has failed miserably. If I could give them a 0 star rating I would. They don't even deserve one start. They must be starving for money. It is so sad to see the hotel fail. After driving 5 hours we got there around midnight husband got a room we walked down the hallway which the carpet was filthy got into the room the curtain was missing a hook and so it was drooping I looked at the bed and I grabbed the cover and lifted it and it had a huge stain on it which you couldn’t see until you lifted it and I looked at one pillow and it was dirty not to mention the floor, we were in there a total of 5 minutes and decided I would rather sleep in my car we went back out to the lobby asking for a refund he said he couldn’t refund he already did the night audit, we were only 5 minutes after checking in after some discussion and husband insisting we got him to sign off stating we would be refunded in the morning after talking to the manager. Made a reservation over the phone yesterday and was promptly put on hold mid sentence. No warning. Went in with my dad.

Came in around 9pm in a semi and was told by the front desk that there was truck parking. There wasn't any. I had to back completely out of the driveway and park at the truck stop nearby. Went inside and actually asked the guy if the place had bugs (past experiences) and he laughed it off and said "of course not".

Went up to the room but not before nearly stepping on a key fobbed sized spider. One big enough you could see it's fur. I mentioned it to the guy but he just shrugged his shoulders and sat back down.

Then there's the room. It was super musty and had a residual smell of some sort of cooking spices lingering in the air. The beds are literally 5-6 inch cots suspended on a metal frame. Went to take a shower and the floors were filthy. Towels were super stiff like they had been hang dried. And the worst part was after the shower I watched as a smaller cockroach crawled out from under a crack between the floor tiles and the toilet.

I would not give these people any money. I'm not sure what the issue is but it seemed to me to either be laziness or they just suck at their jobs. Please go stay at any of the other three hotels in the area. Hopefully they aren't run by the...
