And Tom and Theresa feel like old, old friends…folks you have known for years, with all of their quirks and their amazing personalities and their energy. The place itself is magical: drive your car down a road that sheds Moab like old fur at springtime and by the time you have navigated the 17 mile sort-of-road to and down Hurrah Pass, you know you are going to a special place. You park your car, unpack your food and your stuff, and just spend however many days you have lucked out in booking just leaving your room, setting out in any direction, and walking into terrain that is found nowhere else except in the Southeastern section of Red Rock Utah. You don’t look at your car again, or think about it, until you have to leave. You can just sit on a porch or patio and lose yourself in contemplation of the River flowing below your porch, or the hills of painted stone….relax your mind and your soul. Tom will regale you with stories from his colorful past, Kobei the African Tortoise will fix you with his ancient eyes, Jax the particular pooch might grace you with his presence and his quiet demand for worship, Theresa’s laugh will captivate you with its joy…… you can feel whole and peaceful. This place is not for everyone. It is for folks who love the silence and the rocks and walking down a wash and examining small plants and looking for fossils and spending time engaging in serenity, or…playing disc golf since he runs two, 18 hole courses renowned for their beauty and difficulty.
