Traveling the country alone from Ohio in 2020 and stumbled upon a man in Florida who I'm thinking is "the one".  He flew out to Vegas in order to travel with me for a few days and wanted to see the canyon because he's never been west. I've been out here a few times and did the Skywalk, so I knew he would want to see that. Booked a night at Happy Trails Campground and Mini Motel and I couldn't be happier with what we experienced here. Arrived around 8pm so the entire area was dark, but the campground was lit and easy to follow the road. This is definitely remote, but there is a pretty brand new gas station just up the road. Samantha had helpfully sent a text earlier in the afternoon explaining parking, access to the room, wifi and morning coffee. We stayed in Room #4. The room is one of four that have been created within what we found out is an original construction trailer from building Route 66.  A really great example of re-purposing equipment. The room itself was cozy, and not at all for more than two people. The heater was turned on so the room was toasty upon arrival which was thoughtful. We actually prefer it colder, so turned that off and AC on. Both worked great and we did not find any of the complaints that others have mentioned with odors (very clean) nor noise from the AC (slept great). The queen bed was comfy and plenty of pillow options. Very nice water pressure AND hot water for two full showers (way better then the two Vegas strip hotels I've stayed in recently). The room was clean and included nice fluffy bath towels which was a nice touch. The decor was tasteful, rustic, and historically local.  A clean microwave,  mini fridge, and small flat screen TV were all used, and the room was nicely lit with two small lamps along with the sink and bathroom lighting. We didn't use the patio chair, but did enjoy the firepit area. One of the long time residents (camped there 8 years from KY but has lived in the campground 6 years) was very amicable and provided a great fire at 7am, good company, and local stories. There is a nice looking set of restrooms which we assume had showers inside, and a little "barn" building with complimentary coffee, a lending library of books, dvds, and boardgames. A small offering of relevant pantry and personal items for sale. The decor again was so nice and a big section of one wall was for signing in. My boyfriend is very tall, so our sign in is up high. :-) We plan at some point in 2021 to bring our two sons from previous relationships for a "first combined family vacation " and there is no other place for us to consider as a top choice to stay again. The boys would love the area. Thank you to the owners for making so much effort at cozy accommodations. Jamie & Wayne

Happy Trails is an amazing, special place. The owners are warm and welcoming... and oh so much fun! We spent 6 weeks at Happy Trails and literally cried when it was time for us to leave. It truly became home. The campground sits in front of the Grand Wash Cliffs with amazing views, especially at sunset as the cliffs and sky burst into color. Some of our best evenings were spent chatting around the campfire and playing cornhole. There are hundreds of miles of off-road trails and easy access to Lake Mead nearby so bring your toys! The campground is clean, well maintained and with more amenities than we ever needed. I could not recommend Happy Trails more. We will most certainly return.

Great little place pretty much out in nowhere which was exactly what I was looking for. Bathrooms kept clean. The owner is very responsive via phone and nice but I never actually saw anyone working there. Great views!! I think it's mostly seasonal folks- very friendly. 2 cautions.. there are wandering dogs there... they seem ok but if your dog doesn't like other dogs just be aware. Second... definitely don't follow Google maps...2 miles after Dollar General you'll take a right onto Meadview, then take a left on Sandy Point, then left onto Hualapai Creek. Youll save your car and camper a lot of jostling. I would definitely camp here again.

My husband booked this rv park on a whim on the internet, arriving the next day from booking, he wanted to stay close to the West Rim of the GC to go to the skywalk. The park is about 45 min away and a very pretty drive. Keep in mind though that Meadview is out in the middle of No Where! It is definitely a “Desert Get Away”, as stated on their website. The location is very difficult to find as other reviewers had posted, my biggest fear was not getting stuck on the Hualapai dirt road everyone had mentioned, but even knowing this we still managed to pass up Meadview Blvd, We have a class A 44’, and missed the turn, YEP! Missed it! We drove on up the road towards Lake Meade looking for somewhere to pull off to turn around. There is not a sign (Blue w/ a tent) or their sign indicating to turn right. We were told by someone that they aren’t allowed to put their sign out by the road, but we don’t understand why they can’t have a blue sign like the other place. |I called the # on the website with no answer, so I texted that we couldn’t find the road. She called back and was very nice directing us back, (we were about 8 miles past the road), and found a place to turn around after we unhooked our tow jeep. What we didn’t realize until we checked in is that she isn’t even there, she was in Utah, which wasn’t a huge deal, just surprised. ||The directions state it is 8 miles from the Family Dollar… once you see FD on your left definitely be on the lookout. As directions state you will see a blue sign for Meadview RV Camp Ground, that is not them! But you are getting close. Put Meadview Blvd in your gps so you don’t miss it. Once you turn right, then you will turn left on to Sandy Point, then left on to Hualapai (DO NOT TURN Right ON Hualapai if you do miss Meadview Blvd as your gps will direct you, because it IS the dirt road other reviewers talked about), when you turn left off of Sandy Point it IS a dirt road and has rivets, but you aren’t on it very long from this direction, Happy Trails is up on the right. The directions state something like they are in the heart of the city (or town ?), don’t be fooled like I was expecting to see normal population of a town, it’s just trailers and houses where people live and a gas & grub store which we stopped at to play the power ball that we didn’t win… |A grounds keeper Dave showed us to our site #1 and had his campers but for a front view. |3 rooms were occupied at the mini motel, which looked like a trailer partitioned out, each with sliding front doors.||The stay was fine, no issues, saw three bunnies and a cool bird. The Joshua Trees are everywhere. On way back from GC stopped at the GC ranch. It was fun, had lunch, Dave played his guitar and sang for us. Truly worth stopping by and checking...
