This is a private facility owned operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Facility use is generally by scheduled appointment only and can be scheduled through the church's website. There is generally a reservation fee for facility use. There are volunteer caretakers (missionaries) living on-site. The facility suffered quite a bit of damage during a fire several years ago, but has been rebuilt into a wonderful modern recreation facility with new bathrooms and better ramp/stair access to the pools. There is a natural geothermal spring-fed 'upper' pool with a gravel bottom and containing the local Moapa Dace fish (which will nibble gently at your toes if you stay still). Lots of trees and a cliff block the sun in the afternoon and the water temperature is slightly warm and very pleasant. Overflow from the upper pool feeds a large concrete/traditional lower pool. Both the upper pool and the lower pool can be reserved for half day activities. There are also large grass fields available for overnight camping during scheduled ward activities. The spring water flows out of the facility and into the Muddy River, flowing eventually into Lake Mead and the Colorado River system. The property was acquired by the church 50 years ago and developed into a recreational area for members in the area. This facility is often confused with other public swimming facilities that used to be in the same area. There may still be a publicly accessible facility in the area, but I don't know...

Read moreI have always loved this place. It is a private recreation area that can be reserved for Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint members. It has a natural pool with a gravel bottom and a concrete pool. They used to be really cool back in the day with rope swings and diving boards, but a fire swept through and burnt all the unsafe stuff up which wasn't added back in. But really they had stopped using that stuff before the fire after the health department declared it a public pool even though it wasn't. The place is still...
