Where do I start? First, I was absolutely thrilled that I found a place that had a full kitchen for the short time I was there working. The pictures on their website were beautiful. But I've been in the Oil & Gas industry a long time so I know that looks can be years old and places become run down quickly. WRONG!!! This place was exactly as pictured on their site. As soon as I booked it, they sent a text and email detailing the address and that they would send me my room number as soon as they assigned it. They also had some links detailing how the community worked as well as how to unlock the door which was digital. Once I got there, I noticed how clean the area was on the property. A big plus considering it being an oil town. Once inside my unit, it was very, very clean and spacious. I was in the Queen bed unit so there was only one bed. There was also a couch, chair and coffee table with a smart TV set up on a console. There were two a/c units that kept the unit cooled to the temperature I wanted with no issues. There was also a stackable hi-tech washer & dryer unit for use which i used twice during my stay. They even provided tide pods to use! The bed was very comfortable and I slept good while I was there. The bathroom shower was huge and had the best water pressure than even my house!! Now, I had the best stay but there were some very minor issues that didn't mess up my stay at all but I mention so that you can prepare for it. First, everyday I showered, the fire alarm went off. Since I was the only one staying in the unit, there was no reason to shut the door. I did have the fan on but it wasn't pushing the steam out fast enough. Second, there was no place to hang your towel to dry after the shower. A little hook on the wall would have been nice. I just placed it over one of the dining chairs to dry while I was at work. Third, some of the kitchen items were clearly missing - i.e. forks, spoons, pots. Luckily I carry utensils with me so that was not an issue. In fact, I left them there so the next person would have more than one each to use. Fourth, there was only one kitchen rag. Again, because I travel 90% of the time, I had extras from home to use. And last, there was only one pot and one skillet. I managed because it was only me. But other places like this I have stayed at had "inventory sheets" that checked off everything in the unit and was verified by the cleaning staff and unit occupant when they checked in. Something like that might help. Other than those very minor issues, I still give it 5 stars on...
Read moreMy husband recently stayed at The Boxhouses in Monahans, TX, while working as a Transmission Lineman, and he couldn't stop raving about this exceptional business. The little houses were impeccably clean and incredibly useful, each equipped with their own washing and drying machines, a full-sized fridge, TV, high-speed internet, a kitchen, bathroom, and shower. At approximately $73 per night, the value for these accommodations was unbeatable, which is why they don't offer weekly or monthly rates. The real highlight of our experience was the property manager, Mechelle. In southern slang, she's the "cat's pajamas," meaning she's exceptionally good at what she does. Mechelle ensured all my husband's needs were met with remarkable hospitality and thorough information. She was understanding, patient, and always willing to go above and beyond to accommodate our requests. She even provided her personal number for any immediate needs. On one occasion, she called back promptly after missing my call, explaining she was personally handling minor repairs to avoid bothering the maintenance guy over the weekend. Her dedication and character truly made our stay at The Boxhouses memorable. We highly, highly recommend The Boxhouses. Businesses thrive with good management, and Mechelle’s exemplary service is a testament to that. Thank you for the...
Read moreI can't say enough about this place! It was awesome! I travel around the country for work and find myself in these places that may be overpriced for whatever reason, oftentimes because it's just oil and gas workers in the area and price gouging is a thing? This was cheaper than a typical week at a hotel, especially in the area! I heard about these BoxHouses from one of the crew members and gave it a shot. From the get-go, their customer service reached out and was available for whatever I needed or had questions with via text or call. Really warm, really accommodating. The house itself was a great change of pace. I find myself in hotels and extended stays all of the time. This place is a complex in which every resident has their own tiny home, separate from the next. No upstairs neighbors, no downstairs. Granted, the next person is feet away from your door. But that's another plus - you can pull right up be no more than 5-10 feet away from your door. The building itself is clean, full-size kitchen with cookware and dinnerware. Washer and dryer inside. Smart TV. Breakfast area and couch to work. Area is nice and quiet.
Seriously, if more of these popped up, I'd stay here every time. I was genuinely sad to check out as the project took me further west. If I'm in the area, I'm...
