Wow. It’s not usual that I start a hotel review with such a positive affirmation, but the Fairfield Inn & Suites Monahans has more than earned it. We stayed at this location twice this month and the experience exceeded our expectations both times. First, the service provided by Taraji Davis at the front desk was exceptional. She could teach a master class in hospitality kindness and professionalism. She made us feel so welcome with her warm and caring energy, patiently answered all of our questions, and promptly followed up on a request we had. She is the kind of associate Marriott should feel proud to call their own because she represents the best of the Marriott brand. The hotel is relatively new, very clean and modern, and exceptionally well maintained. We stayed in the two queen bed suite and the room was very clean and spacious! While you can hear some noise from the interstate in the room, it is not enough to disturb your sleep. The beds were perfect - not too soft or hard - and we slept very well. We do wish there was a little more water pressure in the bathroom, but it was good enough to take a decent hot shower. The breakfast options were excellent with the usual hot and cold options. We especially enjoyed the egg white and spinach frittatas and the waffle machine. We only wish the hot water carafe in the breakfast area dispensed hot water in the evening - the hot water was perfect in the morning for tea but lukewarm in the evening. The location of the hotel is really convenient - easy to access from the I-20 and there are plenty of gas stations and restaurants to choose from within a 5 minute drive. Overall, we would recommend this hotel with enthusiasm and without hesitation!    Read moreNice and clean. Very busy, I assume, due to the road construction all around, especially from Midland to south of Odessa. Also, construction in Pecos. For the hotel, i only had one issue due to a granted late checkout. The morning housekeeping ladies had my 1:30 PM checkout on their list. Perfect! Then, another housekeeping person knocked on my door at 12 noon and asked me why I was still there, in an accusatory tone. I told her I was granted a late check out the day before. She huffed and stormed away. Then, within ten minutes, as I am trying to pack quickly and leave, my room phone rings, and the hotel manager asks me, in the same accusatory tone, why I was still in the room. I explained the late checkout. While it was on the list, and the early housekeeping ladies, who were awesome, had it on the list. How is it possible that the manager can not check and use the system instead of calling a Lifetime Platinum Elite Marriott member and giving the customer an attitude? Yes, I know this sounds petty. But, the manager should do some checking first instead of interrupting me. Otherwise, everything was great. Especially all the rest of the employees. The young lady who checked me in and gave me the 1:30 checkout should be the manager. I thought she was. I did not get her name. They also have a great cable line-up as I drove 6 hours and needed to unwind and chill watching an NBA playoff game. Some yahoo in a room on my floor was banging on a door or two because i assume he was awakened by incoming customers. Try to close the door quietly, people. Don't let it slam in hotels....
   Read moreI can't say enough good things about this hotel. Highly recommended!!!! My husband and I have stayed here ever trip to and from Texas and it is always a wonderful experience. I am a clean freak (self diagnosed) so I travel with wipes and other cleaning supplies so I can go over the bathroom and surfaces where my stuff will be. (I'd love to pack my own sheets and blankets too but haven't gone that far yet LOL). This hotel has NEVER been dirty. Doesn't matter what surface I've wiped in the several stays here. NOTHING was ever dirty or even questionable. I spoke with the manager before we left the last time and found out there are 7 people on the cleaning staff. I was very impressed with the attention to detail the staff has and how clean and sanitary everything is. When we got downstairs to leave, a copy of our bill was on the counter with two bottles of water and snacks. The manager D, had it ready and wished my husband and I, a safe drive home. Everyone is very friendly. Breakfast has been very good every time! This is how I wish all the Marriott hotels were. Sadly, they are few and far between that are this clean and well managed!!! Maybe this manager should be put in charge of all Marriotts! This is a 10/10! Bedding even smells clean. Which I never come across. Thank you to the staff there. You guys...
