Cooper Canyon Trail Camp — Hotel in Monrovia

April 2017 - This hike-in trail camp on the PCT is amazing - I highly recommend it. The campsite is surrounded by mature trees and has a creek right along the south side. There are three large camping areas with a fire ring and tables. There is enough room for many tents.

The bathroom is far enough away that it doesn't disturb but also not too far to make it a hike to use it. Unfortunately the bathroom was quite dirty - the forest service should come around to clean it more often.

There is no potable water available so bring a filter or boil the water...

Took the PCT down to the campground on a nice day in November. There was still water flowing in the stream, and this in a drought year! Probably aren't too many people using the campground at this time of year, so the pit toilet was OK and even had plenty of TP. Burkhart TH to Cooper Cyn Trail camp : Backpacking

이 등산로는 왕복 6마일에 3h ~3h 30m 정도 소요. Burkhart TH에서 출발하여 1.5마일의 내리막길을 내려가면 PCT를 만나게 됩니다. 여기서 왼쪽으로 1.5마일을 더가는데 0.7마일 정도의 구간은 경사도가 상당히 심한 편이지만 이곳만 지나면 나머지는 무난하게 캠프장까지 갈수있습니다. 등산로 주위에 많은 나무들이 화재로 소실되어 많은 그늘은 제공해 주지는 못하지만 앙상하게 남아있는 나뭇가지들이 내어주는 작은 그늘은 애처롭기까지 합니다. 하지만 계곡을 타고 불어오는 시원한 바람은 이러한 생각을 잠시 멈추게 합니다. 다행히도 캠프장 주변은 큰피해가 없어 높다란 나무들이 만들어주는 그늘과 바람으로 쾌적한 휴식을 즐길수 있을것 입니다. 캠프장 옆으로는 냇물이 흐르고 있어 발도 한번 담가 볼만합니다. 현재(7/24/2022)캠프장의 화장실은 폐쇠되있는 상태입니다. 내려오는 길에는 Cooper cyn Falls에 잠시들러 더위를 식혀보는것도 추천합니다.
