Moran's Motel — Hotel in Montegut

This motel is exceedingly expensive, $118.34 for a room. The quality is near that of a motel 6 or lower. The beds are poor quality you can feel the mattress springs. The furniture consists of two cheap chairs and a small table. The tub drains poorly expect to shower in ankle deep water. The toilet will not flush even with repeated and vigorous plunging (yes they have plungers in the room). House keeping will unfortunately have to deal with the aftermath. Window curtains are see through. Just drive back to Golden Meadow or Cut Off and get a room at a better cheaper motel. I won't make this mistake again. The place has a nice rustic fish camp appearance and is convenient to Port Fourchon. But falls completely short of all else. We stayed 1 night here 12/01/12. Just needed a place close to port to sleep. The hotel is pretty run down but was clean. It is on stilks & has boardwalk leading from hotel to a bar (there was a live band). Boardwalk also leads to a nice resturaunt. Resturaunt has a sort of romantic feel, white table clothes candles & such. The food is pricey but good. There is parking beneath the hotel, would be perfect for a fishing trip as you coud park & chain your boat under there.You can also drive your boat right up to the dock there. Place is very clean. Nice location. Bed is comfortable. Room is large. Has a mini fridge that cools mediocre. Works great for us. Only complaint isn’t the motels fault. We just have VERY disrespectful people sitting outside in the parking lot just below our room. I don’t even know if they have a room here or just using the parking lot. Playing music we can hear over our air conditioner. VERY VERY loud. Drunk and F this, F that over and over at 2:50 am. It’s the 2nd disrespectful group. The first were out til about 1:30.
