We stayed here for 3 nights in early November and aside from the beautiful, warm weather we had a great time staying in The Sugar Shack. It was just the 2 of us so the small cabin with its own bathroom was perfect for us and it was wonderful having a small fridge and microwave, which is all we needed but the kitchenette comes fully furnished. As soon as we walked in I could tell it had been recently cleaned and was so excited to there. We got there pretty late, around 9pm, so the owners left the light on for us and the door open with the keys so we could just unload and relax as soon as we got there. The grounds are really pretty and the porch on our cabin faced the gorgeous sunsets and the secluded hot tub made for amazing, relaxing nights. Since all the cabins are difficult different I'd like to go back up and stay in another just to see what they're like and because it was such a nice time. We did some hiking around the area, including Jay Peak and Devil's Gulch, both challenging yet worth the walk.||There are a couple things that I'll note....we had practically NO cell service, I had none and my fiancee had some using certain apps, and there was no phone in our cabin. There is a landline in the office in the owners house that's available but neither of us had stable, usable service. Also, the coffee maker in our cabin was a French press and we weren't sure how to use one (never have before) and because of the lack of cell service we couldn't look up how to use it. Lastly, there seems to be a full frisbee golf course through the woods behind that's loosely maintained but we didn't see anything about it on the website or the info in the cabin so we weren't sure what the deal was with that. ||Overall we had a great time, as always it went by way too fast, but we drove 3.5 hours one way and it was well...
Read moreI cannot emphasize enough how delightful our stay at Crofters Green was. Kristin and Daniel were such accommodating hosts that met each of our needs even the more obscure ones (who has an extra potato masher laying around? They do!). ||||We arrived on a Thursday afternoon to a welcome message and a care package for our stay. All accommodations were thoughtfully arranged: toiletries, coffee, towels, bedding, morning and evening snacks, kitchen basics, they even had ice made for us!||||Our weekend was filled with visits to the fresh spring watering holes, disc golf, hiking, jacuzzi visits, and a revitalizing Salt Cave visit. Daniel has the hook up in town for all you “getaway” needs. Whether you want to go blueberry picking or relax on a lazy river tubing in the sunshine.||||We ate out two nights and managed a 6 person dinner with our fully stocked kitchen, which I was told every cottage has, ours certainly was.||||We saw hummingbirds, hawks, cardinals, and even heard an owl hooting in the early evening from the comfort of our porch. I managed a refreshing run along on the arduous hills of Vermont and picked up some fresh farm eggs on my way back to the property. ||||Our 5 day visit one of the most comforting and convenient vacations I’ve ever had and would be delighted to visit again. I imagine winter stays are just as delightful considering the extra bedding and comfort items that were thoughtfully stowed away in our cottage trunk. ||||Loved the property, loved the hosts, appreciated all the care and compassion that seems the norm in this adorable Vermont town. Thank you again so much for making our little escape from NYC feel as enlightening and uplifting as an...
Read moreYou need to have your wedding here! We loved our experience at Crofters' Green for our June 2025 wedding. Working with Kristin and Daniel means you work with real humans-- they are easy to talk to, genuine, and fun! We felt like they knew exactly what was needed to have a fantastic weekend.
The venue is a great value for the money-- you get access to so much for your wedding weekend. Our guests raved about how unique and inclusive everything was. From the fire pit, hot tub, onsite camping... it just felt like this venue was really thoughtfully pulled together to give everyone a fun experience. Daniel seemed to have ongoing plans for even more improvements and additions. I would really recommend this to couples who could either hire additional coordination and clean up services and/or who have a team of responsible friends and family to help. There are just a lot of spaces to consider for set up and clean up!
The landscaping is well kept and gorgeous. You get a lot of different options for ceremony sites and photos (woods, orchard, fields, stream). The tiny homes were so clean and nicely stocked for our on-site guests. The bathrooms were clean and appreciated by our camping guests.
All in all, a beautiful space run by a wonderful family. I could go on haha. The best decision for our wedding was having it at...
