The Big South Fork Lodge is outstanding! There are no words to describe it. The hospitality here from the owners is stupendous, when you need them they are there but they aren’t there when you don’t. There are so many fun things to do and see there, and all within twenty five minutes or less. This whole town and lodge is like a big camp ground. There are these lookouts that are just gorgeous you look straight down the mountain from a safe platform to look out on with a pair of binoculars are even made for color blind people to see, they are just so caring in this town! There are also many trails for walking and horse back riding. My family and I had so much fun walking down the trails in the fresh mountain air. In town there are some great family friendly restaurants. Just down the street from Big South Fork Lodge is a hazard cave but don’t be alarmed by the name it is gorgeous and cool inside and the formation of rock is mind blowing! Also there is Pickett Park where you can swim, rent kayaks, play on playgrounds, go over a walking bridge, and have a good old fashion picnic. Thnatire Overall this Lodge brings may adventures to the eye and my family and I will definitely make the road trip...

I had the pleasure of staying at Big South Fork Lodge recently, and I must say, Becky went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, she was warm, welcoming, and made us feel like family. Her knowledge of the area was impressive, and she offered excellent recommendations for local trails, scenic spots, and activities—making our time in the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area even more special.

Becky was also incredibly attentive to our needs during our stay. She ensured our cabin was well-prepared, offered helpful tips about the lodge’s amenities, and checked in to make sure everything was comfortable. Her kindness and attention to detail truly enhanced the overall experience.

If you’re staying at Big South Fork Lodge, be sure to say hello to Becky—she’ll make you feel...

We rented the family room, and it was way above expectations! Communication was Vanessa was amazing. As per their check-in instructions, if we were planning to arrive after 6 pm to please contact them. So we did. She gave us explicit instructions about the room, the location, and how to access it. She even followed up to make sure we arrived and didn’t have any questions. The room was spacious and immaculate. It has 3 queen beds and a picnic table. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Smart TV was a good size. The kitchenette has a full-size refrigerator. The bathroom was also big and clean. It is a very quiet and comfortable place. Close to Big South Fork. Highly recommended!! Next time we are by the area, we will definitely stay there...

I really enjoyed my stay here! The rooms are cozy and super clean and the bed is comfortable. I usually sleep poorly on trips but I slept like a baby here. I love the touch light vanity and the shower pressure is great despite being in a rural area. This lodge is convenient to SO many trails! Big South Fork is a skip away and Pickett State Park is a short drive. The owner was very nice and the property is so peaceful and healing to the soul. I will definitely be back!

Stalls are large and the adjacent paddock was a very nice addition. Access to trails across highway was excellent. Trail access north of camp was ok but not that great. The dump station is difficult to access. I had no issues but larger units would find it difficult if the two campsites we had are occupied. You will definitely need a long dump hose. Campground does have lots of chickens and ducks running around. Overall I was pleased.

We stayed three nights in December 2023. The room was fine, beds are comfortable, no bugs, very clean. Rates are fair. Pet friendly. There are very few people in the BSF in winter so it's peaceful and quiet. There are limited restaurant options nearby so keep that in mind, but the room does have a fridge and microwave. Lots of great hiking options nearby so it worked great for us.
