The "roughest" part about staying here is making your way out from under the dreamy duvet to the tent door a few feet away, to retrieve your pot of fresh coffee delivered on a woven tray just before sunrise. Room service in the high desert. I had to pinch myself.
The sunrise and sunsets are stunning. the tents are another world entirely, with attention to detail that you didn't know you needed: solar string lighting, calming colors, rugs, and plenty of space to lounge and dream. I felt a true sense of privacy, yet a short walk to facilities and my car if I needed something. Wagons make loading in and out a breeze!
You're still "camping." You can build a fire, sense the elements, and lose count of stars in the night sky. You're glamping though, and that means a date with the wood-fired sauna after a full day of hiking. It means access to the sweetest open-air fully stocked kitchen where you can cook something that tastes much better than cowboy beans from a can. You get to suspend from a hammock just outside your door, and sleep under the glow of soft lanterns. The bathrooms and showers are spotless and such a luxury after sweating it out on the trails! What an incredible place Keisha and Erik have created here! They made this their home and welcome everyone to it. Easy access to Needles District of Canyonlands and a reasonable distance - but world away - from the Moab crowds. Perfect for the solo traveler, couples, or families. You'll hear some highway traffic, but it quiets down significantly after dark. (There are earplugs next to your bed if you're a light sleeper) You might also hear coyotes, birds, the resident hens chattering in the morning, and if you're an early riser, the gentle sound of that tray of hot coffee being set on your deck at dawn. I can't wait...
Read moreWe stayed here one night in the second half of July 2024. This was our first time glamping, and it was absolutely amazing. I can't imagine that any future glamping experience will be able to top this. My daughters (9 &12) absolutely loved it. The location was absolutely amazing, a beautiful view across a desert landscape with buttes, mountains, and tumbleweeds. Complete solitude. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming. The resident chickens were also curious and friendly as well. We made use of the shared kitchen area to cook our dinner. The bathrooms were extremely clean and beautifully decorated (my kids were in awe! :-) ). We stayed in the Safari Family tent - what a luxurious tent to sleep in! I haven't slept so comfortably in ages: the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The breeze through the windows at night was heavenly. The lights in the tent added such a cozy feeling as well. Swings in the front of the tent for the kids, and hammocks that all four of us thoroughly enjoyed, where we watched a storm roll through at sunset (complete with a double rainbow!) and could watch the stars at night. I watched the sun rise at 6am, and we were treated to coffee and tea service at our front door at 7am. The attention to detail at Glamping Canyonlands is amazing and absolutely apparent. The commitment to environmental sustainability is also visible and appreciated. So much hard work has gone in to making this a welcoming and comfortable place to stay. What an amazing place this is, and we hope we can return here once again in the future, but with a longer stay than just one night. Thank you for your hospitality and making this an absolutely memorable top highlight of our two week road trip...
Read moreOne of the highlights of a trip in Utah! We chose to stay here over another nearby glamping property and I'm so glad we did. This is NOT one of those places that is just made to look pretty for Instagram. I've never stayed anywhere - hotel, Airbnb, anything - where so much thought was put into making a great guest experience. Just for fun after checking out we tried to think of anything we wished they might have had, and the only two things we could think of they have since added, so trust, they've thought of just about everything you could need. We were enjoying it so much we tried to extend our stay an extra night but of course they were fully booked!
We arrived at night and it was absolutely magical to wake up to the glowing sunrise and the heavenly french press coffee. Staying in late July it was extremely hot during the day - if you come in the summer, have plans for the afternoon after your hikes as you won't want to be in the tent. Be sure to read all the helpful info on their website and know what kind of weather is likely, etc. If you want to visit the needles district, this is a no-brainer - I'm pretty sure this is the closest you can get to the park entrance without doing actual tent camping, and the drive is so pretty in the early morning.
Keshia and Erik are so warm, so friendly, and have so many suggestions for what to visit in the area - definitely ask their recommendations! They were super responsive throughout our stay and are a great follow on social media as well - they share so much cool information on the local area and how they make their incredible property run. Don't forget to check out the poster in the bathhouse about how they provide the running water 😯 Stay here, you...
