We have been going for almost 30 years. Ive been taking my children since they were little and they're now all over 30. Up until the past 6 years or so we always had clean rooms. But its not been that way a while. Not much would keep us away because it's like home to us. We feel better just going and this was my birthday weekend. My daughter brought me because I wanted the hottub and the kids love the pool. Even the hot tub was dirty. Jets had black inside and sides were grimey. We stayed anyway because I was hurting bad and needed the tub for real. Not to mention 4 kids a pool and we'd already spent the day getting there. We will go back because as I said its hone away from home. But some cleanliness makes it worth going more often. 130 Xs 60 rooms...you could afford to pay decent cleaners. We had just came from the pool and had a pool side room. All of us showered directly after. Our feet were jet black from walking around inside the room. It was gross. Sadly my review from last May wasn't found. It could confirm the cabin was the same. At least the beds were soft and comfy. The room beds have me...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with our stay. We booked for the whole weekend and ended up leaving after the first night. The place is definitely dated. Balcony of the room was covered in filth, there was trash and grim everywhere. Bathroom wasn’t clean there was hair all in the shower. Went to the pool area and was planning on enjoying the sunshine while it was pretty and the outside space was awful. Pool area and stairs were very poorly lite which was not ideal with children in the pool. Went to the restaurant there and spent $100 on a buffet of what we considered “school food” the buffet consisted of two types of chicken with around three sides and a salad bar. The location of the lodge is good for scenic stays. If you have children and plan on doing anything besides the lake be aware it will be a drive of at least 15-20 minutes before hitting another town. This includes restaurants there is nothing close at all. The best part was the view from...
Read moreLure Lodge is nestled into a very scenic part of Jamestown KY. The lodge rooms all have balconies that overlook Lake Cumberland but keep in mind some rooms have better views than others. They have an indoor pool, an outdoor pool about a half mile off from the main lodge, putt-putt golf, a restaurant on site (which is amazing) & a marina you can drive down to & walk around. There is a popular overlook within walking distance to the lodge as well. A short distance from the lodge is Wolf Creek Dam which is a wonderful place to visit. There is camping available down from the dam, a nice playground area for the kids & a snack/food shack. I believe there are also bike rentals as well.
Lure Lodge isnt very far away from the city of Jamestown if you need groceries, etc. But its a great place for a weekend stay or just to travel & watch boats on...
