I am a repeat customer of Timber Pointe for the past several years. We have always enjoyed our stays there and loved the amenities it provided for our kids when we are visiting family. This particular trip left a sour taste and we will not be returning. I called a directly to the resort and booked my room with the staff. I was quoted a price of 303 and needed to pay 1/2 up front which I did. I was very clear that I wanted the 4 bed suite as there were 5 guest and we had stayed in room before and even clarified the price. There were two witnesses to my conversation. Upon a arrival we were placed in a two bed suite meaning it had a kitchen. Upon calling and talking with the person on call my husband was told they have young High schoolers and they must have misunderstood or quoted the wrong price. The room we were told we would have was available but he was told the only way we could get it was to pay another $112 or would have to make due and have someone sleep on the floor. I’ve asked for a refund so we could find different accommodations that would work and he was told no because we already checked in. I called back and was told there was no one else I could speak with as I watched the person walk into the owners home behind the lodge. After a return phone call from the on call person their fix was to put a flimsy air mattress on the floor for one of the kids. Meanwhile the other room sat vacant. When I asked to speak to the manager owner the next day she continued to say that it was a misunderstanding but we shouldn’t expect the 120 room for the price we were quoted. She also stated she heard the whole phone call the day before but instead of coming and talking to us directly as the owner she opted to buy a cheap flimsy mattress. They are a small business and they can’t afford to give rooms away was her excuse. Yet the suite was still available if we wanted it. I was not asking anyone to give a room away I was asking that they honor the price we were told for the room we were told we would have. Instead I was told by the owner she would refund all of my money and we could leave the property. Now She was willing to refund my money because I was upset and called them out on their poor business skills of making the client pay for their error. All I really wanted was a sincere and to be moved to the to the room I was told I had booked. Instead I was told mistakes happen. To be clear I do understand mistakes happen. But I also expect the business to fix them when they do and your suggestion only benefited you. This is an increditably poor way to due business with a repeat customer who has recommended your establishment to many friends over the years. I never once cussed or was inappropriate. I was upset justifiably because all we got was it was a misunderstanding but the only we can fix it is to give you a cheap air mattress or we the customer could pay more money for your mistake. Again all while the room we had been told we were getting sat vacant. I have never written a poor review but put yourself in our shoes and ask your self if we had been told a price and then given something else and you only options as the client is to put your kid on the floor or pay over 100.00 more how...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel in October 2023, which was the second time I have stayed at this hotel. Throughout my two-night stay, I had no issues. However, the final morning I noticed water on the floor in the kitchen area and it appeared to be leaking from the refrigerator. I reported the water in the floor to hotel management immediately, but no one came to the room to determine the problem. I followed check-out instructions and upon leaving the room, the water on the floor had increased so I put down towels to keep it from ruining the flooring until someone came to resolve the issue.||Later when paying my credit card bill, I discovered an additional $100 charge. I was not contacted and told about this additional charge so I contacted hotel management and was advised it was due to damage I caused from pouring grease down the kitchen sink, resulting in a clogged pipe and that I had taken the kitchen sink pipe apart in an attempt to clean the grease causing excessive water damage. I advised management that I did not cook in the room and only used the oven to bake a casserole with items brought from home. As management was told earlier that day on the telephone, I thought the water was coming from the refrigerator.||Management informed me they had pictures and that I had to have caused the damage because the room had no damage before my arrival. If I had known that I was going to have to defend myself to prove that there was no such damage when I left, I would have taken pictures (not a common practice when I check out of a hotel or rental house). Management told me on the telephone that I was not telling the truth and said the pictures proved I caused the damage. I was not disputing that there could have been damage since it did appear the refrigerator was leaking when I left but the pictures could not prove I caused the damage. My dispute is with management stating that I caused the damage which would be extremely difficult since I did not cook in the room and definitely did not pour grease down the drain nor detach any kitchen sink pipes. Management could have avoided further damage to the room if they had responded to my report of the leaking refrigerator in a timely manner.||There is no “office” at this hotel forcing you to call management with any questions or issues. Management does answer the phone but always rushes the call leaving you with the impression you are an interruption. I would not recommend this hotel; however, if you decide to stay here, I highly recommend you take pictures of the room when you arrive and again before you leave. Also, check your credit card statement immediately to ensure no additional charges have been applied without your knowledge. At management’s request, I did send an email to the owners explaining what actually occurred, but I do not believe that email was ever provided to the owners. I did not receive a reply and when I called to follow-up, I was told that my email had been archived and that the $100 charge still stands. I learned a valuable $100 lesson with the Timber...
Read moreI didn't stay here. The review is just for the restaurant. We ordered a pizza for the three of us. The cashier suggested an appetizer since we weren't sure if the pizza alone would feed three adults. She recommended cheese bread, which we got. We sat down and about 10 minutes later a lady came out saying she had our "hot honey sticks". We let her know we didn't order that, but ordered cheese bread. She said that's what it was. We were confused, especially when she told us it had cauliflower crust and was drizzled with actual honey. She assured us this was our "chesse bread". The look on our faces must have clearly showed our skepticism as she said she would take it back if we didn't like it. We each had some, but we didn't care for it. The cauliflower crust wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either - just bland and had a bit of an odd flavor. The honey doesn't work well on cheese. My dad is diabetic and isn't something he should eat. I don't know why the cashier didn't explain what it was. She called it cheese bread.
The place is nice and quaint. There's only two or three tables. The rest of the seating is couches, so you may have to eat off of your lap.
Pizza was okay. They offer coffee drinks and a few sandwich options, but I...
