At first I was a bit skeptical when I was looking at the menu. I thought the menu selection was an odd choice for a high class restaurant. However I quickly changed my tune! The vegetable tempura appetizer was phenomenal. Just melted in your mouth with excellent flavor. Then I ordered a beef tri tip sandwich, I think that is what it was called. My first bite was an amazing explosion of flavor, that had me repeating the question "who new"? And that the chef is a true creative artist with blending flavors! Who new that beef with balsamic vinegrette, apples, and brie would be such a delicious sandwich? We chose to skip on desert but I'm willing to bet that it would have been just as amazing. It was the first date night my husband and I had taken in 2 years, we were celebrating and expected the bill to be a whole lot more than it was. They may be a little on the high side but we have spent more for dinner at several restaurants in town. I highly recommend you take the chance. If you are going to the restaurant from montrose make sure you give yourself at least an hour to get there, but trust me it will be well worth it! Hope you all enjoy your meal as...
Read moreWe had gone to this resort to check it out about a year ago. We toured the place had a drink. It is a lovely beautiful resort and area. We decided to go for Easter Brunch. We had a reservation at 11:00 am. We were seated at 11:20 not a big deal. But what we realized they seat every hour. By noon it felt rushed to get us out for the people waiting for their noon reservation. The staff were friendly and doing their best.|Now to the food. It was a disappointment Omelet station, biscuits gravy, bacon (not thoroughly cooked) sausage, dried out small square hash-browns that appeared to be from a bag and dried pancakes. They did have a prime rib and asparagus wrapped with uncooked bacon. A tray with berries and some fruit. Now to someone that had a noon or later reservation you will get breakfast. An expensive one at that. Oh and no desert table at all. The place was decorated beautifully and an Easter Bunny and Helpers for pictures if you wanted. The food was just marginal for the price. I would not recommend their brunch. I always give a second chance and will do lunch or dinner. They advertise too notch...
Read moreI brought our family to Elk Mountain for mother's day brunch and experienced the rudest staff member any of us have ever encountered! This young lady's behavior was shocking and quite disgusting! From what we were told, this little pink haired monster is usually kept away from the customers in the kitchen, but because of the overwhelming amount of customers and lack of staff they regrettably turned her loose. I don't think anyone could have predicted the level of viciousness that this little girl would unleash on the lodges customers. Thankfully another staff member was quick to muzzle the monster and became our protector for the rest of our brunch. Grace was our savior! What started out as one of the most appalling dining experiences any of us have ever had, was salvaged by Grace. She was incredibly professional, and took amazing care of us for the rest of our brunch. Elk Mountain is one of our favorite places to eat and the horrible little pink haired monster will not stop us from coming back. I may bring a can of bear...
