We loved this campground and it was perfect for us! Hidden gem!! We found off from hip camp.
This is campground is not for the faint at heart! A true nature/wildlife and fisherman’s delight for camping to get away from the noise, hustle, bustle technology, and to slow down.
This campground respects its land and wildlife and protects its quiet area by its very strict rules. ( read the rules and understand them)
The small red firelights at night makes it for a true camping experience to appreciate the noises that nature holds. Bring a flashlight there are no bright electrical bright lights anywhere expect the front entrance.
The dark sky star gazing tops off this experience by allowing to get up and close with nature. We were able to relax and decompress.
Spacious lots and plenty of free space from the neighbors, it truly provides a nice relaxing experience.
There is tent and group camping so those spaces are closer together. Few sites have sewer. Rest have Water and electricity. (did not take photos of the group sites, just where I was at.) there are options for pull through and it is spacious enough for big rigs and mega rigs. The hose at the dump was just not usable (the ends were not screwable to attach a hose for proper dump and clean out). We were able to dump but not dump fully. We stopped at the blue Heron Service plaza with 100% RV amenities. That was on our way home and was able to do a full clean dump. Flying J also had dumps for cost.
Friendly service from the hosts/owners. It was one of my favorite places to have been. They did have activity planned for the kids. Comfy from being away from Home with amenities to make it a great stay. Their welcoming center has basic needs in their store.
They have three ponds (two for fishing) that allows paddle boats, kayaks and canoes. One lake as a beach for swimming and they allow the dog in the beach lakes. (They are pet breed specific on what they allow, check with them to see if your dog would be allowed)
They have a pool and a small playground for the kiddos in the front by the welcoming center. It does have a gate pass to get in keeping it private in this super safe area.
A grocery store is within 6 Min and dollar tree down the street. Over 10miles are the bigger shopping stores. Zeppes pizza 15 min away and highly recommend it!
Close to Lake Erie and within 5 area lighthouses within an hr. drive and other attractions and an hr from clevland.
There are outhouses to use and a super nice shelter in back with shower space with large stalls with hot water. there is also a pavillion that is set up with basketball and horsehoes.
Please note: we just got there after a huge rainfall.
All sites were pretty much level and the roads and lots were well graded. The land was Maintained and lanscaped beautifully, The lots are gravel, Grass sites for tent campers.
Some sites were flooded out and some of the grounds were flooded and it was muddy drive through they can't control the rain, but they did a great job grading. The roads were ok to pull through. Muds great for the kids and dogs LOL
We have US cellular and had 1 bar but still had access. That was never a concern for us.
We would absolutely camp here again, the quietness...

The Good: It is quiet and clean. Other reviews that say the facility is dirty or not private are outdated. The shower and restroom facility was immaculate. Even the port-o-pottys were clean.
The woman who checked us in was super accommodating and kind. My son and I were running late and she stuck around a little longer to get us checked in. Our site was nicely shaded and had a softer wood chip area that was HUGE for tents and other stuff.
The not so good: Very restrictive policies on a lot of things. You cannot tie anything to trees, like a hammock. The rules say you cannot listen to music via speaker. You must use headphones. I played music quietly and had no issues though, and the seasonal RV people next to us played theirs fairly loudly. Pricey. The cost to stay 2 nights in s tent was 3x the amount other places charge. You can ONLY buy their firewood at $12/bundle. There seemed to be a lot of empty sites, but when you look online they all show as booked. We only saw 2 other tent campers and everyone else there was seasonal. All of the seasonal people there seemed disgruntled by the prices and management. The people next to us had multiple pow-wows with other seasonal renters about how unhappy they are. The pool was open but not super enticing looking. There are no nearby hiking or biking trails. It looks like they are putting in some effort, but the place certainly could be better.
I'd go back, but only as a...
Read moreThis was the 13th and final stop on our 3+ week long trip. I’d rank this place last or second last among the 13 campgrounds we’ve stayed at this trip.
Pros: nice setting with some lakefront sites.
Cons: bathroom/showerhouse is probably a quarter mile from most sites. And to-boot, you have to walk around to the back of the building to get in. Our site was “premium back-in”. If we had actually backed-in, the services (water/electric) would have been on the wrong side and nearly 50 feet away. Our “patio area” would also be steps away from the patio of a decrepit camper that was parked perpendicular to our site. It’s like some gravel was thrown down to make a new site, without any consideration of the lack of properly placed services. Instead, we pulled in and will back out. We checked in on a Friday in July, and the place was like a ghost town. The pool is disgusting. The shallow end of the pool was only 2 or 3 feet deep, and you couldn’t see the bottom. A properly maintained pool should be crystal clear, this was a cloudy mess. We aren’t having a fire, but apparently there is also an absurd firewood policy that many others have...
