I spent a lot of time here growing up. I started going here when I was 11 years old back in the 80's right after my Mother died back in 1984.

The 10 years of attending this camp as both a camper and a counselor, were probably some of the best summers of my life. The friends I made there are still friends of mine to this day and some of the best people I have ever known.

About a year and a half back, my wife and I had the opportunity to let our 3 children attend the camp. We almost did not get a chance to go because of last minute financial problems, but the director Keith Ploof sponsored our three children and we made the trip to Maine. When we dropped the kids off, I had a chance to walk around and reminisce a little. I was shocked to see that not much had changed. It is amazing to me how a place can remain untouched by so many years. Sure, the rules have changed a little, and I was a little disappointed that they do not sing the camp song I grew up with. Overall though, it was just as amazing as I remembered.

Definitely a positive experience for any...

I CANNOT say enough great things about Camp Neofa!! My two girls ages 11 and 9 , and myself were a bit hesitant and unsure how it would go, they had never been to a summer camp, and never spent many overnights away from home...( besides with family&close friends) but it was a HUGE success. They are already talking about going next summer for the full 4 weeks instead of 2! The counselors and staff made a huge impact on my girls, they are all simply amazing people with huge hearts, whom all played the biggest role in making my girls have such a wonderful, positive experience. The impact they made is one my girls and myself will never forget. They truly are the ones who ensured this was a memorable, fun and exciting adventure! Of course they made a ton of new camper friends as well that they are hoping to see again next summer! THANK YOU SO MUCH to all the counselors and staff of Camp Neofa, for making my kids first overnight camp experience so wonderful. They cant wait to go back!! I would 100% recommend bringing your kids here, it is an absolutely...

Camp Neofa is a stay away camp for 9-14 yr olds that was established by the northeastern odd fellows association at Trues pond in the early fifties, after buying the liberty fairgrounds from the town. The odd fellows have recently raised money to update the dam for the pond, creating a wonderful fishing spot and marsh area, with many snapping turtles, fish and birds.

The camp is established on the shore of the pond, and can be rented by outside groups. It continues to be administered and directed by the Northeast odd fellows...
