After seeing the low rating this particular campground received from so many people, I didn't want to make a reservation with them, but my husband and his friends thought we should at least give it a try. We made a reservation for 3 nights, but we only ended up staying for 2. When we arrived at our tent site, located in section A, the first thing we noticed was all the dog poo. There were piles of it right on our site. We thankfully had a rake to clean it up, but it was just nasty and our 3yo daughter stepped in some. The bathrooms near us were also very dirty. Insects everywhere, on the sink, the toilets, and in cobwebs above the bathroom stalls. The water also ran cold. No hot water, or even warm water for that matter. Disappointed with how things were turning out so far, we thought at least they have a lake we can go swimming in. Well, that turned out to be a disappointment as well. The "lake" was more like a very large pond. Lots of lily pads, frogs, fish, and water snakes. Yes, my husband and I spotted a snake gliding through the water as we were about to dip our feet. On the way back from the lake, my husband stepped on a metal tent stake on our camp site that must have been left behind by the previous campers. It was sticking out of the ground, not visible until my husband stepped on it and it pierced his foot. His foot still bothers him 2 weeks later. It was a deep puncture wound. The employees really need to inspect the campsites better. It was overall a very disappointing...
Read moreThe website photos look great, but a closer looks show pretty lake scenes, but not very nice looking camping areas. This "campground" seems to me more like a "liveground", as it appears to me that about 80% of the occupants have full time setups with decks, shacks, and lots of "what-not". We stayed for 2 nights and happened to have had a decent site, but utilities were a visual mess. The sewer pipe was fine, but the cable, electric & water was all "bunched up", on and near a crowded pole, shared by at least 3 other sites. Cable TV does offer many, many channels, but apparently wi-fi is only available at the office. Reviews remained mixed. I think that most transient RVers, staying a night or 2 would find this place unappealing. The people we met there were very helpful, and they gladly helped us hook up the utilities, but the place looks a bit shabby. Bathrooms, showers & laundry could best be described as rustic, but I found them to be clean. We wanted to see the sights of nearby Nazareth, and this was the only campsite we could find in that area. Dog rules are exceptionally strict, and you cannot walk your dogs after dark. I never felt unsafe or compromised, but I think I'd look for a different campground next...
