Beautiful! We stayed in site 001, which is labeled as Triple Occupancy with a Double Driveway. We called ahead to ensure that we were allowed to park two travel trailers at this site, which they confirmed. The site has six parking spaces, five of which are gravel, with the last one paved. We parked one camper across three spaces, and the other on the paved driveway, which made a nice little private L-shaped spot. There is water within feet of site 001, although it was off during our trip. We were able to drive to a nearby town to fill up. There are three picnic tables. The fire pit is quite far from the driveway, so take a monitor for the babies, you won't hear them from the fire ring after bedtime.

Beautiful little campground nestled in the woods in north central New Mexico. Not very busy on a Sunday afternoon. Most campers were on their way out. A few hikers headed out on the trails. Be sure to take clothing for all types of weather (rain gear and a warm jacket) and take plenty of water. Weather can change in an instant! Fishing was non-existent on this visit. The creek was very clear and running well. Hmmm?

Santa Barbara Campground has been a highlight of this trip. 5 miles of prime fly fishing water from the site. It was amazing countryside.

So disappointed, beautiful campground but absolutely no monitoring, and I was surrounded by campers who took advantage of that. 2 monster RV’s – one on either side ran generators all day and night, that’s all day and night for the next 5 nights. One had a dog pen about 8 ft from my tent with 3 dogs – they used it for potty breaks and did not clean up the mess when they left. The other side had a monster RV, a large camper, 3 tents, and a shower (that they connected to the water pump meant for everyone to use), 2 dune buggies, 2 Pick Up trucks and a large hauling tailer that they stored with the friend on the other side of me, and they had to use a power tool on it for something every now and then . Everyone in both groups drove the wrong way on the one way, a one lane drive, so people coming down had to wait to go until they parked….they parked and drove on the meadow surrounding the campsite as needed…honestly I felt like I was in the middle of a “Dukes of Hazzard” episode. Then some teens from another group site decided to put up a tent type shelter across the street and past the meadow under the trees IN THE FOREST …… they had to walk right by the yellow warning sign on the path that said, “NO CAMPING HERE”, but even worse they had an axe and were chopping wood with it……..the weird looking tent had something inside of it that produced a lot of white smoke….needless to say I had a hard time sleeping that night!! When we went up to the camp host (after she drove the wrong way on the one way as she always did), and started to tell her about it, she lit up and said, “Yes, isn’t that cool – they have a sauna in there!” … we will never go back, assuming of course that there is still something to go back to...

Great campground, camp sights have a decent amount of distance between them. The thing i like about it is that its a camp sight that you can het almost any rv into it, the roads are not too curvy, theres one kinda sharp turn you have to make but other than that. I have a 11"6' lance camper and it was a piece of cake getting it up there. The "river" is about 100' from most camp sights, some are closer. I did see several handicap spots up there also. Most camp sights are on dirt but the handicap are paved, and close to bathrooms. The only real big complaint i had was that they did not stock the river so fishing was bad. I could tell the river was not stocked by the fey fish my dad caught, and they were brown trout which are a native trout to New Mexico, the hatcheries do not use these fish. That camp sight has no water, electricity, or plumbing, not a big deal but you will not be able to stay there for a long amount of time before running out of pro pain and water. I will visit this campground again, i...

The Santa Barbara Campgrounds nestled in the Carson Nat. forest near the Sipapu ski basin is a typical campground with all the amenities found in this type of campground like picnic tables, fire rings, running water and vault toilets. There are a couple of trails that are available and you can fish at the Rio Santa Barbara which is very picturesque. The trails are beautiful, but there is some areas that could pose a walking hazard (rocky areas, overground roots on trail, slippery mud areas after a rainstorm and creek crossings) if you are un sure on your feet. Also since it is relatively high up be aware of the altitude take water and take your time on the trails if you are from low lander areas of the country. We had a couple of people in our group from the pacific northwest area that were feeling the effects of...
