The park is beautiful however, the current curator signed on this summer for 2017 are possibly the rudest Couple I have ever encountered. The elderly couple aggressively verbally attacked both my husband and I. As the woman absolutely lied about her dialog the previous day while we attempted to purchase a pass, the elderly gentlemen; and I use this term loosely, proceeded to raise his voice to my husband, violently waiving his hands about and yelling, not to mention scaring our dog whom was on a leash while their own pet was loose and barking.

In all of our families years of buying passes and renting campsites at this park, never have we been subjected to such belligerence. The couple clearly fancies themselves "master and commander" of the park, repeatedly referring to it as "their" backyard. Such a shame that a beautiful place could be spoiled by such rudeness and ignorance. I will not be renting here this summer. Anyone who moderates this page is welcome to contact me for additional information. I will be filing complaints with the core as well as additional sites. I would hate to see a family's get away ruined by attending a campsite with unhedged people whom clearly suffer from a major inferiority complex, drunk with a little power they feel they have over poor...

This park is like camping at the beach ON the beach! You are right at the water's edge. It is my favorite park. 93% of the sites have NO trees. Most floods have killed the trees. The 5-6 camp sites away from the waterfront have plenty of oak trees. The restroom is generally clean. Lately there are no on site park hosts which mean if you run out of TP or there is a "mishap" in the bathroom...you clean it, ignore it, tolerate it or wait til the clean-up crew come in on their designated day. Not a good situation. The COE no longer have park hosts at this park (only a paid gate attendant). It's really a sad situation. I've been coming to this small park for decades and now in the evenings I feel somewhat abandoned since there are no COE "staff" there to assist and oversee things in the park. The park is still beautiful! I'm just worried what will happen to the park since it's not under...

Beautiful, well kept, and easy to access campground for first time RV campers (after picking Casita Travel Trailer and heading to Kempner for Katy's Closet install). We came mid-week , mid-April and had the place nearly to ourselves. Beautiful lake and scenery, with a surprisingly large amount of birds including cranes, duck, and vultures, among others. The groundskeeper, Brian, was very welcoming, informative, and nice. Easy enough to find, and easy to get around the camp ground after getting through first two gates. Impressive enough that we would like to come back on our journeys...

This was an absolutely beautiful spot on the lake. Very quiet. Very peaceful. We had the perfect spot on the upper lot right under a beautiful tree. We even got to see lightening bugs for the first time! The only downfall was a boil order for water was in place for the city and we only knew about it through finding a news article. Nothing was posted at the camp or no notifications. Being from out of town had we not known about the ban from an article we happened across we would have not been complying and using the water there at the camp.
