After completing three stays throughout Fall and Winter, I can confidently say CordeValle is the hidden gem of the South Bay.||Nestled in a beautiful valley in San Martin, warmth greets you at the front gate by one of the associates. While driving up to the lodge, the grounds/golf course views are absolutely stunning(A blue pond? So cool!) Once at the lobby, the bellman quickly grabs all your bags, and check-in is a breeze. Sparkling wine and rosemary-infused hand towels while getting your room keys? YES!||Quick overview of the property below:||Rooms||-The three stays we've had are in the bungalow. Wow. These rooms are gorgeous and luxurious. Huge tubs, stunning golf course views, a wonderful fireplace, and a giant walk-in closet. Also, the robes they provide in the room are top-notch.||Spa/Pool/Gym||We enjoyed having two amazing massages at The Spa At CordeValle. The locker room/spa area for men is HUGE. Well appointed, clean, and lots of places to relax. Both massages were terrific and very fairly priced. The pool, even in the Fall/Winter, is still an oasis of serenity. The staff will gladly assist in bringing food from one of the restaurants directly to your lounger. Suffice it to say, we had a lot of fun by the pool!||The gym is smaller but clean, well-appointed, and was never busy. Huge bonus for having a Peloton bike and row machine.||Staff||This one is important: Every single person at CordeValle is amazing. From the Bellman to the Restaurant staff, I have never met so many warm and genuine people. And on our last stay, they even remembered us. There are so many to list, but off the top of my head, Jenn(both restaurants!), Michelle(Front Desk), Denise(Lions Head Grill), and Benjy (Pickleball trainer). Honestly, though, everyone rocks!||Food||WOW! We never had a bad meal in the three stays(two of them 4 days each). On the contrary, this has to be some of the BEST food in the South Bay(Or even in the Bay Area!) The chef runs his kitchens with such skill and consistent perfection. We had the pleasure of meeting Chef Nico during our last stay, and we thanked him for all the delicious food we had at all three restaurants.||Even when writing this, I know I'm anticipating our trip back in the spring. If you want luxury, serenity, fantastic staff, and food, book...
Read moreWe just returned from our second trip to Cordevalle, and it somehow managed to exceed even our highest expectations. We went as four couples on a golf getaway, and every single one of us — guys and gals alike — absolutely loved it.||The bungalows overlooking the golf course are stunning. Each couple had their own incredibly spacious and luxurious one-bedroom suite, and the patios connected so we could all hang out outside together — perfect for relaxing after a day on the course or catching up over drinks. The rooms were impeccably appointed with everything you’d expect from a true luxury resort.||Now let’s talk golf: This course is as good as it gets. I’ve played Silverleaf and other high-end private courses, and Cordevalle is right up there with the best of them. The course is pristine, challenging, and beautifully laid out — truly unforgettable. The inclusion of a 4-caddie made the rounds even more enjoyable and stress-free.||Beyond the golf, the resort amenities are top notch: a best-in-class warm-up facility, a fantastic spa, and options for pickleball, tennis, hiking — you name it. Whether you're looking to be active or just relax, they’ve got you covered.||Dining is another standout here. The main three-meal restaurant overlooks the course and serves excellent food all day. There’s also a fine dining option that impressed us all, and the golf clubhouse offers first-class fare in a more relaxed setting.||The service is where Cordevalle really sets itself apart. The staff go above and beyond at every turn. A huge shout-out to Marcel and his leadership team — they were everywhere, always present, always thoughtful, and clearly committed to creating the best guest experience possible. From golf cart rides around the property to anticipating your every need, the attention to detail is remarkable.||Cordevalle is the perfect destination for golf trips, family vacations, couples getaways, or just a peaceful escape. It’s a world-class private country club with a world-class resort attached — and we truly can’t recommend it more highly.||We’re already counting the days until our next visit. Cordevalle is officially an annual...
Read moreCordevalle is a really lovely property with a delightful staff that's marred by just some really bizarre process issues and struggles to rectify issues as things prop up.
First issue was that I had called a week before our stay and made a reservation Il Vigneto. I remember the conversation vividly, with the person on the phone briefly trying to say it was closed on account Il Vigneto being "only open on the weekends" before they realized the date I was requesting it was for a Saturday. Suffice to say, I was pretty shocked when we got to our reservation that evening and was told that the reservation had been made at the One Iron Bar instead and that the restaurant was "fully booked" for the evening. They did eventually manage to "squeeze" us in but started us off on a rocky start.
The following morning we were trying to take it easy so I tried to place an order for in-room dining for breakfast. However, when I called the number I got a voicemail and left a message, to which I never got a response. I called again 45 minutes as well as an hour later and still got voicemail. I was finally able to get an order placed after calling the front desk and asking if they were doing in room dining that morning.
Again, the property was lovely and the staff we interacted with were really pleasant and kind, but by the morning we were definitely talking about how we wished we had picked another venue. I think the missing thing here is I've been to venues where I've had worse experiences but the difference there was they had mechanisms to turn a "bad" experience into a "great" one that became some of my favorite stays. However, Cordevalle seems only to have the tools to go from "bad" to "fine" which left the whole stay pretty...
