Fairway Oaks Bed and Breakfast — Hotel in Morganton

We absolutely loved staying at Fairway Oaks B&B!! Bernie and Joyce are amazing hosts! The house is immaculately clean and decorated wonderfully, the yard and sitting areas are superbly maintained overlooking a golf course and the breakfast… well it is top notch! Bernie and Joyce are wonderful cooks. I would have to say they cooked us the best French Toast and Omelets (we stayed two days) that we have ever had, all served on real plates and serving pieces (Joyce has a very impressive attention to detail). Homemade cookies and a cake were awaiting our arrival. No vending machines here, just grab a drink out of the stocked fridge conveniently near your room. Bernie and Joyce do not “hover” over you like at some B&B’s, they make you feel really welcome in their home. We were in town for business and we recommended Fairway Oaks to an associate, he ending up booking a stay our second night. The next morning all we could talk about was how wonderful Bernie and Joyce were and how we would all be...

Fairway Oaks was such a delight! The hosts are kind and friendly, the guest room was lovely, tasteful, and not over-decorated. The rest of the house was beautiful, with a variety of interesting quirky decorations for those who took the time to notice. Cookies were waiting in the room when I arrived. The deck overlooking the golf course (which belongs to the community of which the B&B is a part) was a very pleasant place to sit and relax. Breakfasts were ample and very tasty, and when the hosts learned that one of the other guests and I were fans of country ham, which is hard to come by in the North, they made sure we had (good!) country ham the second-day breakfast. Joyce sent me home with a pot of calla lilies. Highly recommended. If I'm down to visit my daughter at her archaeological dig in Morganton again, I'll be staying...

My girlfriend and I stayed here during the North Carolina leaf viewing season. It was super special!! Bernie and Joyce were so awesome!! It was like entering my own family's house during the holidays. You couldn't be treated more like you were at home. This B&B is not like most. Full home cooked breakfast just for you. Sweet treats out on the main living area for when that sweet tooth grabs you, and just a pretty setting. Planning on returning for a stay and play weekend and have a round or two at the golf course...
