My husband and I stayed here for a night while traveling Route 12, the Old Chicago Road. Actually, this hotel is off Route 12. It was late and we needed a place to stay. There are only three motels in this very small village and two looked really rough and run-down. We did inquire at them for a room but they were full. When we asked for another place to stay this was recommended.||This motel is old, maybe from the 50s and has probably not been remodeled ever. ||But it was a decent enough if you like 50s motels and it did not cost too much, about $45 a night. I would not have wanted to pay more though. ||It looks a little run down from the outside but the room was surprisingly clean, did not smell and no bugs. The sheets, although clean, were kind of yellow, probably old. They needed some new sheets or should have bleached these. I do not remember a blanket either, just a bottom and top sheet and a bedspread. Fortunately it was not a cold night. No breakfast included. Did not see a pool. Hardly anyone was staying there although the two other places in town, which looked really dumpy from the outside (worse), were full, but this place is off the main road. Lady was pleasant enough at check in desk and she probably cleans the rooms too. Place could be spruced up. TV was old but it worked. A/C worked well. For the price it was adequate, an old quiet place off the main drag. Check out the great country restaurant right on Route 12 in the middle in town, great food. ||We slept OK and it was clean enough. I would give it 2.5 stars here but you can't so I will be generous and give...
Read moreThis place is TERRIBLE! The first room they put us in had bedbugs in it, then that night they moved someone else into the room! I had my kids over the next night (I paid for a whole week) and then the Indian guy who runs the place came over and told us we had to pay more to have the kids there although we paid for a double room over 300$ when we argued the fact he told us we had to pack up and leave and only gave me 103$ back! The woman admitted to us that she couldn't do the laundry and that's why the sheets had nastiness all over them, I have absolutely never stayed anywhere worse! If you're looking for a disgusting room and very very rude staff then I would recommend you stay here! If you want anything better staying outside without a tent would be cleaner and more...
Read moreI work weekends and stay here Monday thru Wednesday-Thursday. I noticed it's not on Google, so exploring I ran into reviews. I have not seen a roach nor have I been assaulted by bed bugs. I don't want to call them people liars, but the one where the motel keeper is nice, spot on. Everyday she gives me a banana, but sometimes too ripe to eat.
For the price, you can't beat this place.
I have no idea why these people are saying bed bugs, so I did a poll of three people staying here and have stayed in three different rooms myself since mid June and nobody claims to have bed bugs or roaches.
They are remodeling three or four rooms right now,...
