I made reservation weeks ago for Father's Day. We arrived for the brunch buffet and got seated. There were no plates. The brunch buffet was terrible the food was cold if there was food. No bacon. No fried bologna, 3 cold little omelet balls, biscuits hard as a rock, cold mashed potatoes. Lima beans cold and mushy. Grits were cold with no flavor. Potroast was limited. Mac and cheese tasted good but also cold. Peas were out of can, how can u ruin that but they were cold as well. My brother in law went to see if they refurbished food, very limited chicken tenders were hard and very very chewy sat somewhere way too long. I couldn't wait to get to dessert all gone. My husband said it was cherry pie filling with oatmeal. We were so disappointed as the menu on facebook looked fantastic. We have gone there about 6 times 2 have been really good. We went for Easter and there was a chef right there making omelets all was well. We decided we would give it another try. We took my brother in law , sister in law, and mother and everyone agreed it was a horrible experience and my sister in law was appalled she had to pay 20.00. I went to a young man to ask to see manager he stated she could not be there. I told him all problems and I told him I was embarrassed to bring my husband for Father's Day. I said I am not paying full amount. He stated the men would not be charged and the 3 women discounted. The women were charged full amount 18.00 for cold food and lack of food and no dessert. We will not ever be back. We did see 2 or 3 staff sitting at a table near kitchen dressed like riffraff which looked very shady. You lost a loyal customer willing to give u a bad day, but your bad day...
Read moreNestled in the middle of peaceful farmland, The Big Creek Lodge Restaurant is a true hidden gem. The scenic drive leading there sets the mood perfectly, with rolling fields and the sweet smell of freshly mowed hay. The restaurant itself is stunning—bright, airy, and filled with natural light. Large windows frame picture-perfect views: Hanging Rock on one side and Pilot’s Knob on the other. It’s the kind of setting that makes you want to linger. The food was every bit as impressive as the surroundings. My husband ordered the tomahawk pork chop, served with fresh vegetables gathered from a nearby farm, while I enjoyed the blackened grouper. Both dishes were delicious—thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The staff elevated the experience even more. Our server went above and beyond, offering warm, personal attention. When she learned we were curious about the restaurant, she graciously gave us a tour of the event spaces, explaining the breathtaking views and sharing how the venue also serves as a wedding destination. The chef also visited our table, along with other staff members, to make sure everything was perfect. The Big Creek Lodge Restaurant blends sophisticated, exquisite cuisine with the warmth and hospitality of a sweet country hometown. Whether you’re coming for a special dinner, a scenic drive, or even considering it for an event, this is a place well...
Read moreCame here for a wedding. The staff were friendly and accommodating and it was great to hear about who they were as well. We kept the bar busy and the ladies behind it were the best. Everyone there went all out to make my niece have her dream wedding. They took care of us through the rehearsal dinner, drinks afterwards, the breakfasts the day of and day after the wedding, etc. Their manager made some incredible pastries and everything at breakfast was made in-house as much as possible. The lodge and the cabins are priced very well. I was honestly blown away by everything and I can't wait to book a weekend trip there with some friends. Thank you to everyone there for helping to create a wonderful weekend for our very...
