We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Lightner Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast. From the moment we arrived, we knew this would be a special stay. The atmosphere is outstanding, and you are immediately pulled back in time. We loved the location since you are just outside of town you didn't have to contend with the noise, lack of parking and congestion.||Our host was outstanding – not only welcoming and attentive, but also an excellent resource for information about the Gettysburg area. His knowledge of local attractions and history truly enhanced our visit. We were particularly impressed when he arranged a personal tour for us without any advanced notice, going above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience.||The breakfast each morning was delicious, with a variety of thoughtfully prepared dishes that gave us the perfect start to our days of exploring. The rooms were beautifully decorated, combining historic charm with modern comfort. Every detail showed the care and pride the owners take in their establishment.||If you're planning a visit to Gettysburg, I cannot recommend the Lightner Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast highly enough. It's the perfect combination of comfortable accommodations, exceptional hospitality, and convenient access to all the area has to offer. We'll definitely be returning on...

Steve and Teresa are phenomenal hosts! As my first time staying at a B&B, they really set the bar high for all future B&B stays for me. Teresa is a fantastic cook and her breakfasts are beyond delicious (especially the French toast casserole), and Steve is a fountain of information on the area and local sights to see. They helped us set up a fantastic battlefield tour as well as a Ghost Tour! They even gave me the recipe for that marvelous French Toast Casserole. They are such gracious and welcoming hosts that I actually felt like I was staying with favorite relatives! They really go above and beyond for every single guest and they add the personal touch to make your stay very memorable. Having the breakfast meal plated and brought to you is a welcome treat and I loved my interactions with both Steve and Teresa. I will definitely stay here again when we come back to Gettysburg for another history trip vacation. I cannot say enough good things about the Lightner Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast. I highly recommend staying here and experience the top...

We stayed four nights at the Lightner Farmhouse B & B, and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay for our visit to Gettysburg.||We stayed in the Elmina Spencer Suite, and it was perfect for our needs. The room came with a Keurig, which was perfect for me because I am an early riser. The bed was comfortable. The sitting room was a comfortable place for us to sit, relax and reflect on our day's explorations. The bathroom was clean, the water was hot and the shower was good sized. The only downside of the suit is the steep set of stairs leading up to it, so be prepared.||Steve and Teresa are great people. Teresa prepared us a wonderful breakfast each morning, that included things like baked apples, baked pears, omelets, pancakes, waffles, etc. There was always hot coffee and orange juice.||Steve is very knowledgeable about the battle of Gettysburg and gave us some great background information before we headed out for the day's exploration of the battlefield and the city.||We are truly hoping to come back again in the not too...

We stayed for three nights here in late September and really loved it. The owners Steve and Teresa made us feel welcomed right from the beginning with excellent service and breakfast each morning. Steve is full of information, spending time with us to discuss the history of the house and also provided some great recommendations in town. We arrived on a Wednesday and were only one of two couples there but it filled up by the weekend. The house sits on a lot of property and there are fields and woods to explore. As for the rooms, they provided everything that we could have needed. The rooms and bathroom were actually more spacious than I was expecting for an 1860s farmhouse which was a nice surprise. The house is only a few minutes drive from Baltimore St./Gettysburg. Will definitely be back here again sometime.

I have stayed at a lot of bed-and-breakfasts in my lifetime, but this was hands-down my favorite. Steve, our host, was so knowledgeable about history, but also about the community. Teresa was also very knowledgeable and it is obvious that she has taken so much time and effort to beautifully decorate the farmhouse and make it so welcoming. Their chef, Jason, always had a wonderful breakfast for us (with Teresa‘s help on the fruit and breakfast muffin). I cannot give Lightner farmhouse a high enough rating. I was sorry to have to leave, and will definitely return.

My wife and I stayed two nights July 2nd-3rd while vacationing. Steve & Teressa are superb inn keepers. You can anticipate a good breakfast each morning and Steve is a walking encyclopedia of historical information. The rooms are comfortable and clean and it’s a very short and easy drive to the Gettysburg Battlefield and visitors center along with the town itself. If you’re wanting to tour the battlefield book it with a licensed battlefield tour guide when you book a stay at the Lightner Farmhouse, it’s worth it.
