Very helpful staff, stayed there last fall at the end of the season on an impromptu fishing trip with the kiddos. The covered camping spots were really nice for helping with cutting down on the wind which is usually horrible on and off through out the day in my experience of fishing/camping at CJ strike. Still kinda weird though having the concrete under the tent, especially since my tent is all net unless I put on the rain fly which requires tent stakes. The only reason I only gave four stars is because people constantly cut and walked through our spot, instead of using the walk paths to get to and from the reservoir and bathrooms, all night running generators and early morning dogs barking that people left in their campers/utility trailers and...
Read moreWent for the day for the first time on memorial day and aside from being crowded, it was great! Cano sites and day use areas available, many are right on the water. Lots of area to swim (watch out for lost fishing lures) you can go out quite a way without the water getting very deep. We took kayaks and paddled out a couple hundred yards and were able to find fish however the high boat traffic made catching much harder as we'd have to wait for a lull in traffic before we'd get any nibbles. Overall very nice area, looking forward to going back when it's not so busy. Grab cash before you go, $5 per car for day use, $15...
Read moreThis is a nice campground. The camp sites are great especially with the shelters over the picnic tables. Plus the camp sites are not on top of each other. It's kept clean and the Camp Hosts that were there while we stayed were very helpful. There are plenty of places to swim. You can dock your boat at one of the few small docks they have in the cove. The cost around $10-$12 per site is good. Just a couple notes though. The faucets do not have garden hose threads so you may not be able to fill up your RV with water. It may get pretty windy from 10 to 20 mph gusts even on sunny days so keep...
