We were looking for a tranquil and quiet place to spend our anniversary and the River Ranch Retreat met every expectation. The "off the grid" environment was relaxing and beautiful. We stayed in the cabin right on the Snake River and enjoyed our mornings and evenings sitting on the porch watching the river go by while enjoying the wildlife or just reading a book. The cabin is perfect for a couple. We enjoy nature photography and the birding and wildlife was good. There are acres of unspoiled natural beauty at this riverside ranch and we did not miss the lack of TV or internet. The cabin is cozy, well appointed and so very comfortable. There is a full kitchen with everything one might need to prepare meals. The refrigerator was stocked with English muffins, juices, coffee and creamer. Everything for a nice first breakfast. Just bring your own groceries for your stay or go into nearby Glenn's Ferry to stock up at the local market. There is an occasional train whistle that adds to the ambience.    Read moreThis is one of the coolest places I've ever stayed in. They have a couple individual cabins and a house that you can rent by the room. It's right by the Snake River. The property is part of the Snake River. So, you can go swimming and boating, and the people that own the place will outfit you for most outdoor activities. The owner is a wild artist, who spends most of her time sculpting and making giant chairs out of rocks. And, it's every bit as awesome as it sounds. There are only a few rooms, but you can rent a whole cabin for not much money. It's in the city of King Hill, which is right by Glenns Ferry. The resort is right by the river, and they have a lot of activities available like boating and hiking. There's a pier on the property, too.
