GREAT Overall - read through if you wonder why I gave 3/5 stars. We stayed at The Cove - campsite #2. The Location of Ramsden Lake is super close and very convenient to Atlanta. The Property is amazing - huge property around the lake with all the different accommodations. Booking process was very easy and smooth and they're very responsive over text. I wish you could also call, but that's not an option. Our location was very secluded and very private, which I red most of them are. You have everything you need in your room - AC, Fridge, Electric Pot, Dishware and cutlery - we even had a record player. The bed and the room was really clean. Overall beautiful. The lake was great to look at and take the Kanu/kayak out (which they also provide for you). It's really swimmable - I did jump in because I really do almost everywhere we go but the water is muddy and not really pleasant for swimming. No issues there, just want to give everyone a clear expectation. Why the 3/5 stars then if everything was great ? Well .. First - the fees - be prepared for significant higher amount than what you see as per night price. There is a $50 dog cleaning fee, which doesn't get included automatically, you have to go and purchase it from a separate page on the website. Then you get charged an 78$ general cleaning fee, which at this day and age I am really surprised that people still charge that separate - just add it in the night price, it's not like you can book a night without the cleaning fee. Then in the description of the accommodations you can read that all units have fire wood - but you later realize its only 6 pieces included and everything else you have to purchase - again, no big deal but again, why not be upfront with it? And probably the worst fee which you don't know about until check out - you get the check out instructions and in there you read that you have to wash all the dishes that you used AND collect your own bag full of poop, tie it up and take it to the trash can outside. Come on? I did read its a compostable toilet but, did not expect that I will be carrying my own bag of poop at an accommodation like this. I've stayed in $25 a night, bring your own tent type of campsite, and I've stayed in $400 a night campsites in Africa with all the amenities and everything in between - never had to do this before. The dishes are also annoying - you have this hand sink in the bathroom with soap and a tiny sponge/scrubber and it's just not suitable for dish washing. It's not the end of the world, but again, at a glamping location like this, I just didn't expect it. Maybe have 2 complete sets of dishes and cutlery and simply swap them at check out. It will be much easier to wash everything in a dishwasher and not at the campsite. If you don't complete the above - $50 fee.

To sum it all up - GREAT PLACE, but these fees and practices really left a bitter taste...

My boyfriend and I had a great time staying here. We wanted something secluded but close enough to go and get breakfast or dinner or run to the grocery and this definitely checked those boxes. We stayed at site 10, the valley creek tent. We were warned about the 3-4 minute walk from our car to the actual site. The walk wasn’t bad, it is a little steep walking from the site back to the car but it’s only a few minutes so it’s bearable, but be mindful if you have kids or anything super heavy. It helps make the site even more secluded which is what we wanted. We loved the hammock and enjoyed laying there and reading and drinking coffee. The bed was comfortable, the ac and fan worked wonderfully even with the 90 degree heat at night. We enjoyed making s’mores and relaxing by the fire. Only reason I gave 4 starts was because the wasps were really bad in the bathroom. I obviously know I’m in nature and I expected bugs but they were really aggressive. They had two nests in the bathroom and one was right next to your head if you were sitting on the toilet and anytime I’d even go in the bathroom the wasps would start coming at me and trying to get me to leave. Made it a little uncomfortable to use the restroom. The hot water also stopped working our last night there, wasn’t a huge deal since we were about to leave but definitely a very cold shower that night. I was really excited about the wood fire soaking tub, but we were not successful in using it. We followed all the instructions and watched the video but it never got warm enough to feel comfortable soaking in. It would probably be nice on a really hot sunny day, but way too cold for me. We definitely want to come again and try a different site, but I probably won’t make it a priority to choose a site with a soaking tub. A lot of restaurants and things were closed early in the week so be mindful of that. We ended up trying Huskers for breakfast and that was very good. Metro diner was okay, not great but the cake was good. Antico pizza was great. I recommend going to downtown Decatur, there were a lot of cute shops and lots of restaurants. We had raging burrito and Brick store pub. Both very good. On our last day we went to the aquarium and had a great time, the drive to Atlanta wasn’t bad from the site, just time it with traffic. Also highly recommend Atlanta Vintage Books if you’re a book lover. I could have spent...

My husband and I planned a 4 day staycation at Ramsden Lake. It was a great decision. We stayed in tent #7. It is basically a tent with glass windows and doors. It is beautiful. It is rustic and glamorous at the same time. So quiet. My husband caught so many fish bream , bass, even a very very large carp which took some time to reel in. 😂 We used the canoe that was provided.A lot of items were provided. Cast iron pans ,dishes, utensils etc. My husband and I came overly prepared but if you forget something it is probably provided.Very clean. The yurt/ tent was so great for me. Bugs or other creepy creatures weren't a problem inside. The first night I didn't sleep well but I was in my own head. But the rest of the time I slept like a baby. The only down was my fault. It is a rustic campsite but glampy at the same time. They provide a wonderful outhouse with a sink a toilet sort of like a port a Pottie but upscale. I got use to it though. The outdoor shower on the tree was very different and worth the experience. As I was saying my only downside was that to get into that outhouse was kind of a challenge for me. I am in my late sixties with a bad knee. The challenge was getting up and down the rocks that go to the outhouse. The only reason I bring this up is not to complain but so guests can plan. If you tell the Owner Matthew when making reservations he will provide you the best options of tents. But having said that I would stay in #7 again. We will try other sites too. Very nice safe feel to the place. We were relaxed and enjoyed our...
