We had our wedding here in July, and it was magic. Right when you pull in the drive, the beauty of the place hits you. Wooded hills, cabins nestled in the trees, and a scattering of fun social things to do like volleyball, horseshoe, cornhole and of course fire pits. Along with the ceremony and reception, we wanted to have a full weekend of celebration for our family and friends to really get to spend some time together and get to know each other. We rented out all of the cabins and glamping tents, and it felt like our own personal wedding festival! (We called it Festival de Spreen). :D The ceremony area is central to everything and just gorgeous, and the entire time you get to look down at the arbor you got married under and revel in the special moment. they have pews set up for guest seating, and you get to say your vows under a lovely old oak tree. The fishing pond is surrounded by nature and provides a PERFECT place for gorgeous wedding pictures. The cabins were cute and comfortable, and we loved having our own little one bedroom honeymoon suite with a jacuzzi. The glamping tents were SUPER fun, and our friends who got to stay in them were very excited. You can tell that Lesa and Everett have put so much love and creativity - along with tons of work - into their property. The glamping tent/reception hall bathrooms are very nice, recently renovated in a kind of modern farmhouse style with wood paneling from an old barn, and lovely tiled showers. The reception hall is decorated with strings of lights across the ceiling making it look like a story sky, a gorgeous teak bar, and a jumbo wooden fan to keep things cool. We brought a band and dance our hearts out all night, and they also have a great sound system to hook up your phone and play whatever music you'd like. Fire pits sit right outside the hall so people can hang out and chat but still be a part of the festivities. Plus, the Ocoee River is right down the road, so during the day there a lot of places to hiking, swimming, or whitewater rafting! All of this less than two hours away from where we live in North Georgia. I am so grateful for Lesa and Everett- they are such laid-back and gracious host that made this weekend very special. If you're looking for a unique, outdoorsy and magical wedding venue (at a fraction of the price that a lot of places charge that are also likely much more stuffy), I highly recommend The Cabins...
Read moreAre you looking for a tenting getaway but without the discomfort of sleeping on the ground? That's what we were after Memorial Day weekend when we booked a stay at the Cabins at Copperhill. Our youngest wanted to go camping, but candidly we weren't too enthused about sleeping on the ground, crapping in the woods, and going days without a shower. So we looked around for a "Glamping" location and found Lesa and Everett's Cabins at Copperhill which had, what I would call 'Safari Tents.' Our tent was approximately 16 x 30 with high ceilings, solid canvas walls and screened windows, and a large front opening. The floor was solid hardwood and had a futon couch, large queen bed, side tables, sitting area with 2 chairs and a table, along with an ice chest, microwave, fan, and combination ac/heat unit. Our bathhouse was a short 50-foot walk to a private, locking shower and toilet. The common area, known as the Lodge, had a gas grill, fire pits, plenty of seating, both indoors and out. Did I mention the pool table, ping pong table, TV and Wi-Fi, and Spotify? Our hosts were charming, knowledgeable, and cared deeply about the comfort of their guests. I regretted that I didn't tap enough into their knowledge of the area and missed out on some nearby charms that would have saved us some travel time. You may find other 'glamping' experiences in the area. Still, I will promise you that the comfort and experience that you will find at Cabins at Copperhill can NOT be matched anywhere...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience. We booked for about 5 days including our wedding day. We were able to bring family from all over to this beautiful cabin retreat and stunning wedding venue. Lesa and Everett were incredible hosts and indescribably helpful for setting up and the day of our wedding. 4/12/25 a day that will always be special to us. Our time was so great my mother is talking about getting the family together to go again. The cabins were awesome and we loved the rustic pioneer-esque style. Hot tubs were perfect for the end of nights. All the amenities provided were more than enough, we were able to grill out for the entire wedding party and guests. More than enough room for catering as well. Everett I would like to personally thank you for all the help the day of the wedding, we couldn’t have done it without you! If anyone is reading this and considering getting married here, stop thinking and reach out today. P.S bonus for my nephew all the way from Scotland catching his first ever fish! He was crazy excited! Thanks again, hoping to stay here again in...
