This is the COOLEST campground I have ever visited. We ended up here as overflow lodging from a family reunion held on a large (but not large enough) lakehouse in nearby Hamlin. I loved Kentucky Lake Glamping so much that I am planning a return trip in the fall. Yep, going to drive 2 1/2 hrs back to rural SW Kentucky just to visit this place again! This glampground is lovingly kept, every aspect was created with the customer experiences in mind. Down to the font and signage in the bathrooms. The food is amazing...onsite pizza and all day breakfast, plus an ice cream parlor and popsicles. Excellent coffee, too. We stayed in the Sundrop, the smallest camper, but it was so well organized and roomy inside, it didn't feel all that cramped with 2 adults, a 6 y o, and a large dog. (My daughter stayed over at the lakehouse but we could have squished a 12 y o into the room as well.) They have vintage campers, cabins, and a geodesic dome available to rent, as well as standard RV spots. Each camper comes with linens and towels, toiletries, running water, a microwave, toaster, mini-fridge, a hot plate, cooking implements, and a Keurig with "coffee shop" roast (my fave!). Each campsite has seating, a firepit, and a grill, We were greeted with a smores kit and firewood is available at the camp store. The camp store doubles as the cafe and an indoor gathering space, as well as hosting a covered patio and a grassy area for cornhole. The camp store was beautifully merchandised and well provisioned with both basics and fun stuff too. The staff is personable and caring, we felt like family the second we arrived. The bathrooms and clean and elegant, they felt way more like a hotel bathroom rather than a campground bathhouse. Be aware that each door is its own complete facility with toilet and shower, both. We walked around the building twice looking for toilets specifically before opening one of the doors marked "shower room." And they have a wheelchair-accessible one as well.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: This is a fairly rural area, the roads are narrow and not lit so be aware of this if you're driving after dark. Also not all the roads in the vicinity are paved. Google will not warn you about this in advance, FYI. There is ONE gas station nearby, so don't head out there on your last gallon. The site is located in a dry county so BYOB if you plan to partake.
Even if you don't plan to stay, stop by the cafe and grab a snack if you're in the area!
I LOVED this experience! It's great if you want to camp in style. I love the outdoors, but mainly if it comes with a/c, running water, flushing toilets, a snack bar, and a gift shop. If you're like me...this is the getaway...
Read moreMy husband, kids and I stayed in the gull house. Beds were comfortable, very spacious, home like. Family friendly at the finest. It felt like your own summer house. Convenient items in the house as well as at the main building store. The house is Stocked with everything you need for cooking and dining and for odd little things that you may have forgotten. Owners are super nice and the prices at the main building for food is reasonable. Its better than any other air B and B or hotel that I have been to. And the price per night is reasonable too. The bath house shower are so relaxing and clean. They did a great job with the bathrooms/shower in the bath house. After staying at the gull house we went to Nashville for an air b and b. Spent a lot more money on a newly build "luxurious " condo for one night and it can not compare to Going glamping. The fact that the owners at glamping make it feel so comfortable and all the stuff they have in the places you rent have things you need to stay comfortably. if theres any concerns then the owners take care of the problem immediately. I appreciate business owners who honestly care. I do recommend staying here. Me and my family...
Read moreWe were very impressed with Kentucky Lake Glamping. It was easy to tell that the owners really go that extra mile to make sure their guests have an excellent stay. The property is well thought out and immaculate.
We stayed in the Lakeside Dome which enabled us to have a gorgeous view of the lake every morning and throughout the day. The dome fit our every need.
The cafe is wonderful with a full menu, plenty of ice cream, and a nice camp store. You could gather and eat inside or outside as well.
They made a nice sandy beach complete with umbrellas and chairs for guests.
We had incredible massages in the cozy little massage cabin right by the lake. Lauren is the best!!
We rented a pontoon boat that was perfect for our needs. The boat was well maintained and very clean.
We give this camp ground a five stars!!
We bought a few decorations to add to a homey feel. Why yes, I'm an overpacker. Ha Even without the extras I brought, this is one campground we highly recommend.
We are eager to come back and repeat this experience! ...
