Only gave it 1 star so I could write the review, otherwise I'd give it none. I called ahead and asked again when checking in, was told they'd be accomodating me with 2 queens which is what I requested. We get to the room and there are 2 doubles (quite a bit smaller bed) and the air didn't work well at all. I called down to speak with someone and within 5 minutes of us arriving and getting to our room the night manager had supposedly "just left." I explained the situation the worker was apologetic and said there would not be a manager in until the next morning and I'd have to speak with her then. We made it work by making pallets and placing 2 people on the floor. The next morning I spoke with the manager. To my surprise she was EXTREMELY RUDE, continued to talk over me, and would not allow me to get a word in. At which time I grew extremely frustrated and raised my voice. She backed her staff saying they did nothing wrong and then refused any accommodations to us except for 10% back ($10) because we stayed. I explained that I was told if we left there would be no guarantee of a refund and I didn't want to pay for 2 hotels. She continued stating I was being rude and talking over her. At which time I told her I'd take my complaints to corporate, she stated that's fine we won't be offering 10% back have a good day, and I walked out completely appauled at what had occured. I contacted corporate they took the complaint and stated the hotel had 3 days to respond and they'd get back to me. A week later someone finally called and apologized for the delay. They then stated the manager would not be offering anything and alleged that I cursed her while leaving in front of other guest. I explained this was completely inaccurate and I have witnesses more than willing to state otherwise. They stated they are mediators for guest and their hotel management and there was nothing more that could be done. Needless to say, I was treated poorly, unfairly, lied to, and not accommodated for the wrong doings then on top of which was fasely accused. I have stayed at many best westerns with nothing by wonderful experiences and I will say this was my last. Funny thing is after reading other reviews there are very similar complaints about management yet nothing being done still. What happened to customer service and care? Apparently this is what we're left with in the world. I would not recommend staying...
Read moreIf you're looking for a no-nonsense place to stay off of I-64 in Illinois, this is your spot. It's in Nashville, IL which is beautiful country, has a pond out back next to the warm outdoor pool, and a truck stop/restaurant next door that's open late and even has some slot machines. Mallory at the front desk is so kind and will treat you right, I absolutely adore her. We had a very complicated check in due to me booking through Agoda (which I do not recommend) and Mallory was so helpful and apologetic, I've never met a nicer clerk. They have a very extensive breakfast from 6-9 with lots of options. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was perfect. This was the best stop we could have made on our trip. If you're traveling through Missouri into Tennessee, get through St. Louis and stay at this gem instead of an overpriced motel on the East side of St. Louis. It's about an hour or so further, but if you can make it you won't regret it. Thanks again Mallory for making our stay amazing. I'm making this same trip with another vehicle next month and I'll...
Read moreWe stayed last minute on New Year's Eve. We were originally booked next to three roudy couples and asked to be moved. The front desk clerk gladly accommodated it saying she understood why. There was no elevator anyways, so when she said she had a room on the first floor we took it. Figured we suffer thru anyone above us better than in a crowded section of others. Maybe because of the wood floors, but the upstairs guest was up all.... Night ... Long..... Finally quieted down around 4am the floor above us was very loud creaky and felt like they would fall thru the ceiling. Breakfast was served 6-9am, but everything was mostly gone at 7:15 when we went down. Couldn't find any worker or a front desk clerk anywhere. We had toast and grabbed a bowl of prepackaged cereal and left. Disappointed. Maybe it's just because it was New Years..... We would probably stay again but on the second floor and just not have much to carry in overnight. And either be up earlier for breakfast or plan to skip it and hit a fast food place...
