I’m writing an updated review as a current Palms Resident. What we love, the community. During the pandemic we bought a home here because it felt like the only place that had some level of normalcy in California. The park is always very clean and the management does work tirelessly to keep the park in working order. They plan community events around the holidays that include poker runs and bingo. There is a store that is well stocked with most everything you needed, that includes a little coffee shop. What we wish was different or better? The beach is probably the biggest complaint for the majority of the park residents. We watched the park owner built a monstrosity of a home for years, while our rents went up, and no real improvements are being made to the park, given they are building even more homes. Many of us can’t use our carports properly for boat parking because it’s too tight to make certain turns safely, and the “boat parking” is always full other than a dirt lot at the very top near their red barn. At the same time, other people are visiting from the other park owned by the Palms in Ehrenburg, Arizona. They are telling us of all of the massive improvements happening there, which includes a HUGE beach and there are talks of an infinity pool coming. Our friends said the Palms in Needles is no where near as nice as what they have at the other Palms in AZ. That’s seriously disappointing! Many people we know are selling their homes to find something else. Right now, it feels like half of the community homes are for sale. Even if we want to sell ours, we would be in a line of a million other home owners waiting to offload their home. With as many people selling and the current state of the economy, that’s not happening anytime soon. Suggestion to the park? You could sell more homes and keep your residents by attempting to spend some money and make obvious improvements, not just for the park owners personal home that we all stare at wondering where our...
Read moreThe Palms in Needles is a first class establishment, well kept. My buddy has been storing his boat here inside the park for over 10 years, he has access to the very small and difficult boat ramp due to current when trying to get your boat IN from the river, this ramp is not for beginner's. The Palms have added on massively in the last 2 years, in a new pool by the front gate, meeting center, bigger store, more storage garages and outside storage, it would seem that new storage customers do not have access to the ramp my buddy is grandfathered in and I understand why they don't let storage use the ramp as it is very small and limited truck/ trailer towing, with all the expansion mabye they could build a second ramp by the new storage side and charge a little for it. Everytime we show up we are supposed to get a permit to park now but are told Everytime and this last weekend on Sunday about 1:00PM and I quote "you only get storage, you don't get access to our resort." Question is the new storage side is not inside the park/ resort and most if the new storage customer probably don't know there is a ramp and they certainly don't have the gate code, this is still a very small community and the homeowners know who should and should be there, along with the grounds crew, don't really see a need for a pass for the oldtimers, what happens if we launch when the store is not open, is the truck and trailer gonna get towed? Many a trip we are on the water by 6-7 AM. This issue withstanding this is still a 5 star Resort and if I had kids under 10 would not hesitate to let them go to the inside the park pool, beach or dog park in a group, fyi, great safe place to...
Read moreI'm a current renter of their storage area. Over Memorial weekend the manager there confronted me at the gate while I was searching for my remote to enter. She was very harsh and kept telling me I couldn't be there and the pool was closed she finally drove away yelling that I couldn't be inside without a remote. I found my remote and had used the bathroom when she returned. I was sitting in my car looking for my phone. She locked the pool gate then came to my car window and told me the pool was closed 2 more times which I told her I wasn't using the pool. She told me the entire area was closed and I was not to be there. At this point I noticed she appeared to be drunk. I asked her if this was so she claimed she didnt drink. I asked her why was she harassing me a customer of the place. She denied this and sat in her golf cart watching me. I found my lost phone and parked in front of my trailor in which she followed me and sat and watched again. At this point I was to intimidated to go to my trailor and I stayed in my car. She finally left. This was uncalled for treatment and especially to do this while she was drunk. All night long a loud party went on I finally fell asleep around 3am which this party continued late into the following day and night. I find it strange her over concern with me yet allowed a loud party to go on. I don't think she has been there long but her actions were unprofessional. Im looking into taking my trailer else where. This park has always been a well kept park and the noise level was always reserved. Customers are no longer treated well and allnight parties are allowed. Unhappy...
