Deluxe Motel — Hotel in Neligh

We stopped in this town for the night and originally stopped at Westview motel up the road but they were booked so we came to this MOTEL. Upon arriving it said no vacancy but I went and asked anyways. I went in and the man said they did have one room and the reason the no vacancy sign was on was bc they just got back from a trip to Georgia and Florida but had a double bed room available.So we went in to pay and he wanted to charge us $108 with tax! I don't pay that in big cities I travel through. And all he kept saying is he needs to pay his bills bc he hasn't paid the since his trip. I'm guessing the room were nice enough and need our money to help with the bills ...idk. So we went down the road to Spaulding NE and got a room at a MOTEL called the short stay llc for $55. Edit 9/28/2025..the reason for the 3 start sir, is bc your ripping ppl off with that price when you know good and well that dont cost that much. And your customer service was not the greatest. If I could give no stars I would. This motel was absolutely disgusting. From when you first walk into the room the floor mats are dirty and worn out. The smells hits you like a ton of bricks right in the face. If you’ve ever left clothes in the washer for too long and they got sour, this room was worse. The sheets had grass and other small debris in them (I pray there wasn’t any bed bugs). The towels and shower (from the curtain) smells musty and sour. There are live bugs (spiders and hopefully little gnats) on the ceiling in the bathroom and by the smoke detector that also appears to have mold on it. I only stayed one night and asked for a refund and they refused due to “having to turn people away” when they have 9 other open rooms. And prior to checking in they tried to charge me for 3 nights when the original plans were to only stay 2 nights. I do not recommend this...

Clean but I have constructive criticism.

The AC thermostat doesn't work. Had to turn it WAY down to cool the room from a 90+ day.

The oversized shower has no light inside. Very dark. The toilet is extremely close to the wall on the right hand side and there was a fuzzy carpeted bathmat on the floor that I immediately kicked under the sink. In my opinion no bathroom should have carpet of any kind.

We never got the wifi password and when we went back to the desk no one was there. We could have tried harder and gotten I'm sure but we're lazy.

None of this is to say that you shouldn't stay here. It's a clean room at a good price. The TV is HUGE. The drive in theater down the road was a blast. Its also good to see an old town with a functioning main street. It's kinda dead on the weekend I guess but every storefront is filled and would make for a nice after...
