Absolutely delusional employees, the park is an amazing beautiful place, I wish I could have been there for classic fest, I had planned to be there on my birthday, had the ticket and all, called off for work to spend the week with my family there and relax, I get there and the employee just randomly came out and said I was not allowed on the property and I was welcome to come back next year (me thinking she was kidding I giggled) because I had only ever even seen this lady 1 previous time in my life and she got very hostile and said I snuck in the day previous and I didn't have a ticket, so I had calmly asked if I could speak to someone about it or see camera footage or call someone to prove I was no where near the park when they were saying I was and the bigger lady with dreads got extremely hostile and said she seen me with her own two eyes and said I was calling her a liar, so I apologized and said I just want to prove I wasn't here and a old skinny man with an orange hat and a long white beard came over told me to leave while they had my licenses and my phone still (to see my ticket) and then he hit my sisters car and pump faked a punch thru the window like he was gonna hit me so at that point I had told him to walk down the road and get these hands if he wants to try to destroy my family's property and threaten my safty and instead he called the cops, the cops were 100% on my side but had no option but to tell me to leave because it's private property, but they gave the cops about 4-5 diffrent made up reasons on why I couldn't enter and I explained my side and the cops directly said my story matched up with there's but made sense, not only that but I had a video of most of the encounter they claimed I was hostile and what not but the whole time in the video I'm talking extremely calm just trying to figure out what was happening, the turning point for the police is that they said they want me trespassed for "maliciously spinning the rear tires to kick rocks up and damage property or injure employees" I asked the cops how that's possible in a FRONT WHEEL drive car.... and they giggled and realized the employees who clearly take drugs themselves are having a mental episode, wasn't worth arguing they claimed my sick mom tried to assault them just for showing them a video of me not in the area the day they were claiming I was there, I asked for a refund and they refused and wouldn't even let me talk or let my family talk to them anytime we spoke they threatened to trespass everyone and claimed we were being hostile when we were just trying to communicate the issue, absolutely the worst employees I've ever witnessed in any establishment. 100% recommend the park of they ever get new staff it's truly a beautiful place and the people you'd usually meet there are very kind and open hearted, I have no idea what was going on in the employees heads that day, I tried to call and speak with the owner and they hung up immediately..... I genuinely still don't know why the just decided to say I broke in the day before I got there, but they got furious when I asked them to show me the camera, I was told they didn't let some people in to make room for ppl they wanted in because they over booked but simply telling me that would have been alot easier and less stressful for everyone rather then making up a story and getting the cops there, BTW I was and am completely sober unlike the employees😭😭 I can't even drink because of health issues I was going there to be with family not argue or do anything wild whatsoever. To add to the list, most of my family stayed because we all spent alot of money to be there, and the employees spent the whole weekend stalking everyone associated with me and posting up outside of there camp to nit pick and complain about ANYTHING they could find, seriously trying hard to instigate and altercation do they could get more hostile interactions, I genuinely think they just go off on power trips because they have witnessed the police kick ppl off because it's private property giving them an...
Read moreGorgeous quarry and land. Simply stunning! Each Summer, whenever I can, I make the one hour drive from Cleveland to spend the day swimming at Nelson’s Ledges. It is my anti-stressor and I look forward to it all Winter. Water opens at 10am, so swimmers should get there early because by Noonish the place fills up with smokers and people blasting their music. The serenity is then replaced with a party vibe although most visitors are “Chill.” Still, I use the morning hours to meditate with gratitude in the water. This heals me. I’ve actually cried while in the quarry water because nature has healing power and I am usually super happy by the time I head back to the city. This time, however, I was fairly upset upon arriving. So, here are some tips to help you have the positive experience you deserve: #1. Do not use the scan code to fill out the entry form on your phone at the front gate. Instead, ask to use one of their tablets, which is nice of them to provide. I used the scan code and now I get at least 5-7 “scam likely” calls day. Avoid using the app.
#2 RUDE STAFF! Stay calm if dealing with the older, plus size hippy lady at the entry gate. The younger girls are always super nice, but the one lady is rude. There were only a few cars lining up around 10:30am. I drive a 5 speed, and she stood in front of my car and yelled “move up. Keep coming, keep coming!” I was already up! It takes a minute to gently ease forward in first gear and I was nervous that I would hit her knees since they were practically touching my front bumper. As she’s yelling at me, I said to her, “Ok. Give me a minute, please.” And then she yelled back in a confrontational tone, “EXCUSE ME?” I thought to myself, Aw man, I leave the city to escape rude people but here are we. It didn’t take long to realize that she’s a control-freak with a chip on her shoulder, so I ignored her because my blood pressure was rising and I did not want any problem. This was in the morning, so I can only image how nasty she got as the day continued. So, be warned. There might be a jerk at the front gate who needs some retraining before she pisses off the wrong paying visitor and things go bad.
#3. Be sure to purchase food and drinks at the local vendors because they are all sweethearts. They are sandwiches, coffee, energy drinks, and more! All good stuff.
#4. Although sometimes they have artists with original goods, do not expect much from the product vendors. The stuff is mainly cheap made in China items that can be found anywhere.
#5. Trust the fantastic lifeguards. I started swimming (no noodle or floaty) and looked up to see the lifeguard nod to me to let me know he was watching. 😊One year, a guard was patrolling in his canoe, and stop alongside me to ask if I was okay. It is so great to feel safe while enjoying this special slice of heaven. Thank you for reading my review! Have fun...
Read morewish i could give negative 100 stars. I am at a loss of words for how awful of an experience i was given. We arrived Thursday night and had a great time together listening to the bands that evening. Friday my mom, brother, 2 family friends, there service dog and I went down to the beach by the water and were having a fantastic day for about 3.5 hours no problems. We all enjoyed laying in the water together while the service dog, gabby, was on her leash under tent being watched by a vender. A couple hours later as I approached the beach again to meet with our friends, Natalie and Will, I had noticed a staff member on a bike approaching them as well. I stop by them to see what’s going on when i discover the staff member aggressively yelling at my friend Natalie for her service dogs leash being “too short” (even though there is no requirement for leash length posted anywhere on there website). As this is the 4th time my friend as been rudely approached about something being wrong with her dog she kindly asked her to let her be and made it clear her dog was causing no problems and she had another leash in there backpack. The staff member then proceeded to yell at her saying she spoke in a rude tone and threatened to kick her out. She and her dog walked back to her campsite trying to keep her cool while her boyfriend tried to get better explanation from the owner. A few minutes later he was put on a golf cart to be taken back to his camp site and told him he was being kicked out without any farther explanation. my mom and i followed back quickly to try and deescalate the situation. when we arrived at the camp site there was about 10 staff members here all rudely telling my friends they had to leave because Evan, the owner, “doesnt like their dog being here”. They had no option but to leave unless they wanted to have the cops called and be arrested. As this was happening my mom and I were asking for any farther explanation or better reasoning which they refused to give us and told us we are not allowed to tell anyone about this happening or we were going to be kicked out too. I drove my 14 year old brother, my boyfriend and I all here from southern illinois, which is almost an 8.5 hour drive, which is quite a distance for a 17 year old to drive. I took a week off of my job and sports to come enjoy this experience with my mom and our family friends. For absolutely no reason at all Evan Kelly decided to ruin this trip for all of us. We all spent so much money and put in so much effort to make this work for us just for it all to be ripped away less than 24 hours after arriving. i was so excited to enjoy an awesome festival with my family and friends one more time and this place was the worst option apparently. would never go here again, never recommend it to anyone or have anything nice to say about the place besides the beach....
