I've stayed at the Nenana RV Park & Campground twice now. About a week apart, this place is excellent for those people with large RVs of all sizes or trailers. They have lots of pull thru sites, i got the impression they very rarely turn people away when i asked about making a 2nd reservation. The tent situation is actually one of the best so far in various places in Alaska -- its $15 (2017 summer price) for a tent site and unlimited shower access. They have Wifi/Internet on site there its pretty slow but its enough for a picture message and some wifi-texting. The office/house is open pretty late in summer and have some useful supplies. This campground is very walkable to the town, there are two museums (cultural center and railroad museum) that are a short distance away. Can also walk to the post office, Coghill store, and the river. Catch a view of the Alaska railroad just a few blocks away when it rolls thru town too.
The camping pavilions are really nice, at least one of them has power outlets which are pretty handy for charging those phones, camera batteries, and such. The shower house has laundry and private showers, you can also dump our RV sewage and buy propane if you need it here.
Make this park a stay over if your driving the Park's highway its cheaper or the same price as Denali parks and Alaska state parks in the area. If your just staying one night along your voyage its a nice...
Read moreNice little RV park. If you are looking for a wilderness type experience this is not for you. We stayed here after several days of rustic campgrounds a d appreciated one of the best bathroom/showers on our 8 week trip. There are 2 or 3 regular showers and one private shower room with shower, sink and potty. They even provide clean bath mats for each person. The water was hot and plentiful. There was a Keurig in the office for $1. Some traffic noise in the evening but became very quiet later on. Spaces were nothing special but adequate. There is even a miniature golf course included in the $20 dry camp fee. We stayed on the way to Denali and on...
Read moreWe were fortunate to come across this cozy, friendly rv park for three nights. Very clean facility and it is obvious the owner takes great pride in her property and puts her heart into it. Loved the little office parrot, Olive:) This place is very accommodating to all types of travelers; seniors, families and folks with pets. I was so pleased they had a fenced area for the dogs to play! We stayed an extra day to soak up a bit more of Jamie and her family’s hospitality. We will stay there again anytime we travel that direction. Cute interesting town, friendly community and a GREAT RV park! Matt &...
