I've stayed at many B&Bs and this one is among the best! The home is lovely and there are plenty of charming common spaces to enjoy, both inside and on the expansive front porch. Upon our evening arrival there was a fire in the fireplace in the front room to greet us. As we walked in we were welcomed by our host, Virginia, who showed us to our lovely room (the Jacob room). The room is large with a comfy king bed and premium quality bedding, and what's great is the two separate bathroom sink separated by a wall (great for two girls getting ready in the morning)! There's a shower and a lovely clawfoot tub. The room is filled with amenities: lotions, toiletries, shampoos, Q-tips, etc., so no need to worry if you forgot something. ||||Virginia asked us what time in the morning we would prefer breakfast and also let us know there would be a fresh pot of coffee at the ready for when we got up in the morning. The breakfast cooked by Virginia's husband was amazing (so much better than a hotel provided breakfast). We enjoyed fresh orange juice, fluffy mini pancakes with a side of delicious fruit compote, biscuits, eggs and bacon.||||Parking was easy and we were immediately greeted by the friendly resident cat, who followed us from our car to the front door. I highly recommend...
Read moreIt was like staying with family. Just the right amount of hospitality. They set the coffee out for you and you just turned it on when you got up. Whoever gets up first hits the button, it was great! They serve the same coffee they had at the Whitehouse during the Bush years. Melvin even let me sit in his chair on the front porch. (Thanks Melvin) Great relaxation with the sunrise and watching the humming birds while sipping coffee. Breakfast was ready when you wanted it. Great breakfast too! No, I mean really great breakfast! Way better than any hotel breakfast I've ever had. Virginia checks on you from time to time and makes sure you have what you need. Very relaxing and...
Read moreWe were finally ready to branch out a little after the pandemic. After a day in Longview, Texas it was recommended that we overnight in Marshall at Roseville B&B and we are so glad that we did!!! The place was beautiful, the grounds were gorgeous, the breakfast was scrumptious, and the owners, Melvin and Virginia McConnell, made us feel like family. Melvin and my husband had an early morning chat over coffee and my husband very much enjoyed that. It’s close enough to Longview to be able to enjoy the larger city’s shops and restaurants and then retreat back to small town atmosphere. We highly recommend this B&B and...
