Highly recommended, hidden gem, QUIET, peaceful, takes you back to when life was easier with NO CELL OR INTERNET SERVICE WHATSO EVER, I was told watch out for banjos & dont listen to locals when they say go down “that road” they’ll set you up. Its a nice drive and all RV resort. The river is beautiful, they have swings, tetherball, horse shoe, fish cleaning sink, dogs welcomed, onsite store, office manager on site, clean bathrooms/hot showers in bathroom/individual stalls for toilets and showers all in one room (25cents for a few min.), they have dog poop bags avail. And dog friendly but watch out for “poop” because few owners clean up after their dog, not all owners kept dogs on leashes, small kids running around so you must slow down and watch out, volleyball site, not much sun because you’re surrounded by trees, atv/mountain bikes environment, have fire pit and sell fire wood for $10, sites are VERY CLOSE, have water/electrical hookups/and sewage connections at each site.

We haven't stayed overnight, just parked and went offroading on the town trails. From our experience the bathroom were well maintained compare to most overnight camping grounds. Off course you are in small town with little to no reception, so cash is key. If you use cards most places will add extra charges for convenience fees. The lady managing the front desk reception was very helpful and she gave full directions with map of the trails. Great place to checked out of the digital world and enjoy the scenery. Lots of trails and swimming holes. Although be careful on the trails, as some have massive drops and only one lane. Be mindful of the locals who resides here to ensure you do not impede, but enjoy your time here. I will add more once we camp here.

Beautiful spot on the yuba river, south fork. About 1/3 of the site are backed almost right up to the river! The water was very clear, not too cold, and there were even spots deep enough to jump off the cliffs on the other side. All sites have full RV hookups (sewer, water, power) which was very nice considering how remote the area is. No cell service, but that was nice too. The little town of Washington has a hotel with an excellent bar and restaurant if you dont feel like cooking. The bathrooms were nice, and there's even a volleyball court, horse shoe pit, and playground with a couple swings. We will be returning again, with float tubes this time! Highly recommend checking this spot out.

Very disappointed with how inflexible and not willing to work with us River Rest Resort is. We had to cancel our reversions the day before we were due to arrive because of severe winds and potential electrical power shut off from PG&E at our home. We didn't feel is was safe or wise to go camping and being away from our home (with no cell service) with that being a possibility at our home. I was also checking the PG&E web site and maps at that time and it showed a potential for power to be shut off at the River Rest Resort as well. That did change the next day, which they were very quick to point out. But that was not the case when I had to make the decision the day before to cancel. I was expecting that I would probably loss my one night deposit. What I wasn't expecting was being charged for the entire stay of three nights. Even if I wasn't going to be using the campsites This weather event was not something that I was planning on and had very short notice about. When I emailed the River Rest Resort regarding this I was told that their cancellation policy was that the cancellation had to be made 2 weeks prior to the arrival date. I was told that this was their policy and that it would stand at that. So my credit card was charged for the full amount. I also asked if I could use this amount for future stay and they said they were not able to due that. It was very disappointing that they were not willing to work with us...

Let me say the river was beautiful and that was about it. Honestly I don't usually complain but this needs addressing. I understood going in that there were dirt bikes so I understand that but dealing with the rude loud campers that were on top of us and partying and smoking weed till 4:00am was too much. Campers next to us were actually on us, their tent stakes were under the edge of our trailer. They had music on until 1:30am and I told them to shut it off. Then at 3:00am they started partying again. I told the camp host and she seemed nice and concerned but the owner came and talked to them and they had a good laugh together and nothing happened. I was then visited by another employee and told I owed more money because I had checked in a half hour before check in and would be charged $20. I went the next day to the office to clear it up and the owner was helping an employee with a merchandise problem...for 10 min while we stood there and waited. The owner left without a smile or asking how our stay was going. The employee then went on to tell us about the charge and that I shouldn't be "freaking out" I told her I wasn't but could be real soon. I got 2 camps so I would have space and still had people on me. The cost was horrible, they charge you for everything, we were surprised the air we were breathing was free. The owner was so rude. We have traveled a lot and never seen...

Visited this place for a day while family stayed for the holiday weekend. My first thought was how close together the campsites were. There were full hookups, and decent 2-stall bathrooms with showers. No cell service at all but just a short drive down the road and it comes back on. I didn't get WiFi back right away tho and couldn't use gps. Back to campground~there was a nice clear water creek and I saw many kids rafting and tubing. There were deeper areas for older kids and adults to swim in. They had a cute little coffee cart that sold Starbucks-like coffees. On the first day there, my 41 year old daughter went to the office to ask a simple question about the trash receptacles and the girl got snappy with her. Anyway, she found out they are not bear proof, and was told to expect to just bring the trash inside your camper each night. So you may want to bring a lot of trash bags with you for double bagging so you don't have to smell your trash in your camper. Even tho my daughter and her family are experienced campers and have been to campsites all over California, I'm sure they will return to this...
