My new husband and I have nothing but great things to say about our stay at the Samuel Aurand House B &B. We knew we would be arriving late after our wedding in the area, and we were able to pick up our key ahead of time. When we arrived, there was a beautiful vase with roses and a card for us! The room was beautiful and clean; the pictures online don't do it justice! The next morning when we went down for breakfast, we were greeted by very friendly host John. He had a lovely array of food for us, and he sat and chatted with us as we ate. The shop is very cute as well, as my husband and I love antiques, but there are newer things as well! We were very excited for the Christmas in July sale on the holiday items, as our wedding was a Christmas in July theme! Also, Gunther, the Bernese Mountain dog is amazing. We loved him too. (But if you don't like dogs you don't have to interact with him, don't worry!) As we were leaving, I forgot the roses and he stopped us and brought them downstairs and out to our car, as well as I forgot a necklace there and came back later that day for it. John was so kind and friendly! We would give it more than 5 stars if we could!...
Read moreI stayed there this past winter and what a treat even during the last snow storm we had. John was an amazing host and made a delicious blueberry lemon pie for breakfast. I stayed in the room where I got to enjoy a nice warm jacuzzi bath. This place takes you back through the eras of history in such a tasteful manner. You can feel the years of memories this place contains and yet very comfortable and clean for modern day enjoyment. The bed was comfortable and I got to control the heat in my room with the fireplace as well. I highly recommend for a quick getaway and also check out the beautiful shop downstairs. I had a blast shopping there as well. Also the coffee mug is a great souvenir to purchase remembering...
Read moreI went with a friend and stayed in the suite. The suite was comfortable, charming and well furnished with a balcony and separate entrance available. We didn't need to ask for anything as it was well furnished and even had coffee and tea as well as any needed utensils and dishes. It was clean, well-kept and well maintained. The continental breakfast was more than expected with baked goods, instant oatmeal, bagels, muffins, dry cereals, fresh fruit, and coffee, tea or cocoa available. John, the owner was kind, helpful and friendly and a wealth of information. We are planning another likely trip to this fine establishment...
