Freedom Yurt Resorts — Hotel in New Braunfels

An introvert’s DREAM! Our jobs involve talking to a lot of people, so this was such a perfection idea for us to not have to interact with absolutely anybody.

From the moment you book your desired yurt, everything is already set up for you. We got an email a couple days prior to our arrivals with check in instructions as well as our code to our door. We didn’t have to talk to anyone or the unnecessary small talk that most hotel front desk agents do.

Each yurt is decently spaced so you’re not right next to anyone, aside from the adjoining ones which we stayed in the Monroe, but even so our neighbors were not bother to us.

The space is clean, the kitchen has almost everything you might need if you wish to cook. I love how each unit have their own designated private hot tub and grill which we took advantage of and enjoyed!

The beds are pretty comfortable, the only downside is the shower. A little tight if you’re tall. I’m 5”8 and I felt a little claustrophobic int here, but what can you do with a limited space. It wasn’t a big deal, just not very comfortable when you want to take a good shower.

We did have a couple of bug friends that snuck in, like a spider and two cockroaches but my husband was able to handle that… aside from the unwanted friends, we did see a couple deer enjoying breakfast not too far from our bedroom window. It was a nice view to start our mornings.

It’s not too far from town, plus the drive to and from is pretty relaxing. We love coming up to Canyon Lake just to get away from crazy city life.

Check out was just as easy! They just kindly ask you to take your trash out to the dumpster and start the dishwasher for them. We even washed some towels and left them folded nicely on the table.

We are already planning our next trip up here! Can’t wait...

I had the pleasure of staying three nights at the Stetson cabin/yurt. I was traveling by myself and it was the perfect peaceful and relaxing getaway. I enjoyed long soaks in the bathtub while I watched the nature outside the window. I had my morning coffee in the hot tub. I had DoorDash delivered and enjoyed catching up on some of my movies and TV shows in the extremely comfy bed. It was also very nice to have a full-size washer and dryer to get caught up on my laundry as I had been traveling for quite a long time Prior to this stay. The year has everything that you need to live comfortably. All you need to bring are your own groceries and your preference of laundry detergent if you plan to do laundry as well as bubble bath or bath bombs for the bathtub. They provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash as well as dishwasher pods and dish soap for your use while you are there. The air conditioner was icy cold and easily adjustable. The decor was stylish, modern and minimal - yet it felt cozy and inviting . I also loved the privacy as I didn’t really see any other guests while I was there and I felt very safe. Canyon Lake is such a lovely area of Texas and I cannot wait to come back and stay even longer at the Stetson yurt with my husband so we can enjoy some of the shopping, restaurants and hiking around the area in addition to enjoying the beautiful yurt and all of its amenities. Amber provided me with friendly, prompt and thoughtful customer service throughout my experience - from booking to checking out and was always just an email away if I needed anything. So - If you are staying in the new Braunfels area or Canyon Lake, definitely consider staying here! It’s an incredible value and you can even book adjoining units if traveling as a family. This was such a great stay in a fantastic location. Only about 5 min from the lake which is where I was at most of my stay (during the day). The Yurts were super clean and had magnificent outside amenities. Rocks outside were beautiful and the in laws loved them. I loved the jacuzzi and everything else they had to offer. Neighbors were to themselves and it felt like a private stay. The host was extremely hospitable and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was top notch.
