Deans Den — Hotel in New Canada

Friend of mine asked me to go on a cow moose hunt in Maine the week of October 23rd, 2023. We searched around for available guides and settled on Dean’s Den, after a recommendation from another guide who my friend had hunted with before. We took that advice, called Randy, who had 1 opening left and booked the hunt with him. Glad we did because it worked out great, our guide Tyler was knowledgeable about our zone and scouted the area well advance of the season, saw 6 moose the first day and we settled on number 6, beautiful cow that dressed out at 606 lbs. My friend and I are both physically limited in our abilities and are disabled, but Tyler was able to work around our limitations and did a outstanding job to help put us on game. The lodging was clean and comfortable, food was very good, if you left the table hungry it was not the kitchens fault. Good home cooking and desserts. We were hunting in zone 2, but they also had one group in zone 3, if I remember correctly the lodge is in zone 3 but hunts zone 2 which is not that far away. If you are lucky enough to get a Maine moose tag give Dean’s Den a call and see if they have openings and if they guide in your zone, you won’t make a wrong choice by booking with them.
