We had a great time at Roseland for the July 4th holiday. Weather was a bit cloudier and wetter than most years but we still had a great time. As always, the grounds are meticulously maintained and the facilities are kept very clean. I spoke with all of the owners--Ben, Matt, and Troy--as always they are a busy bunch.||While we were vacationing at Roseland they were experiencing network issues so parts of the campground were lacking Internet. The entire time I was on the property my phone was in SOS mode (my provider is Verizon). I always had good wifi at the pool/bar area.||I personally observed the water being replaced in the hot tub in the main building every day I was there. ||The crowd at Roseland is probably everywhere from 21-80+, but my guess the average is in the 40s. I believe some of the younger folks(aka, people in tents) cancelled due to the weather forecast. Music normally was booming at the pool/bar from 10PM to 2AM. You can be as wild or tame as you want to be at Roseland. ||I took advantage of the presence of a licensed massage therapist--I highly recommend Tim--his partner was unavailable while we were there, but other friends recommend him.||All of the staff are very friendly, but I have a weak spot for Matt's sassiness! He always makes me smile.||Changes this year:|1. The little red cabins above the pool now have small refrigerators. These are my favorite place to stay on the property.||2. This was the first year I noticed women serving as bartenders at night in the pool area at night. Didn't seem to diminish the number of folks dancing their butts off in jock straps (or less!) I recognize they are having problems getting staff since COVID so I imagine that is why women are needed at the bar. I don't think I saw any women in the pool area during the day. ||3. New sleeker website ||4. Expanded menu at the bar in the main building. We had the pizza there and it was good.||||Things that needed improvement this year:|1) Carpeting in the bathroom in the main building. Due to the volume of guys and dripping water the carpet is always wet and smelly(not horrible--but noticeable.) I don't think bathroom/wet areas should ever be carpeted. ||2)New crew in the Walnut Tree restaurant (work in progress.) Over our many years of visiting Roseland the food quality at the Walnut Tree has varied (with the pinnacle being Matt's beef pot roast--in my humble opinion.) The food cost is now $25 for dinner and we were disappointed this year--we did not eat breakfast at the restaurant. For next year, we will be prepared to have all our meals elsewhere--this year we just didn't have sufficient food with us because we had become spoiled in prior years. I believe Matt is fully aware of the issue so hopefully things improve with time. I don't think our experience was an anomaly--the restaurant was much emptier than prior years--we never had to eat outside due to a lack of space.||Having said all of the above--I'm looking forward to next...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Roseland Campground for the first time, and I must say it was an experience that exceeded my expectations. I can confidently say that I will definitely be returning in the future. This campground offers a great getaway for those seeking relaxation and outdoor adventures.
One of the highlights of my stay was meeting the friendly people at Roseland Campground. Everyone was welcoming and eager to strike up conversations, making it easy to make new friends. It's always refreshing to be in an environment where people are open and sociable.
I also appreciated the convenience of being able to keep our tabs open for the duration of our stay. It was nice not having to worry about carrying cash or cards around the campground, as we could simply charge everything to our tab. This added touch of convenience made the experience even more enjoyable.
The staff at Roseland Campground deserve special mention for their outstanding hospitality. They were always friendly and attentive, making sure that we were having a great time. It was evident that they genuinely cared about the guests' satisfaction and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay.
The facilities at Roseland Campground were clean and well maintained. I was particularly impressed by how quickly and efficiently the cleaning was done. It's clear that the staff takes pride in their work and strives to provide a pleasant environment for all visitors.
During our stay, we opted to stay in the Deluxe Cabin. While it was a bit of a walk to the pool area, it offered a peaceful and quiet retreat after a long day of activities. I especially appreciated the small shower facility on the patio, as well as the sink in the room. These added amenities made our stay even more comfortable.
The cabin itself was equipped with a small fridge and microwave, which came in handy for storing drinks and preparing quick meals. It's always nice to have these conveniences when staying away from home.
In terms of dining options, the food at Roseland Campground was rather basic, with options like bar food such as pizza and tenders. However, there was also a dining room that offered a fixed daily menu for a small fee. While the menu wasn't overly extravagant, it provided a great opportunity to dine and mingle with fellow campers.
One of the standout features of Roseland Campground is the gorgeous view from the higher areas. We went on a hike and were treated to breathtaking scenery, which was a fantastic way to start the day. The natural beauty surrounding the campground is truly a sight to behold.
Overall, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the staff at Roseland Campground for making us feel so welcomed and ensuring that we had a truly enjoyable experience. From the friendly atmosphere to the well-maintained facilities, this campground has left a lasting impression. I highly recommend Roseland Campground to anyone seeking a memorable getaway with friendly people and beautiful...
Read moreD.R.A.M.A. I experienced the "dark side" and lost friendships for their mistake. I went to this campsite for years, had a great time. Two visits ago, my ex used his card on my account to cover the expenses and on my last visit when making the reservation, they asked to used the card on file, I said "yes" not knowing his card (in a different person's name), was on my account. Half way through my trip the owner politely pulled me aside and informed me my ex contacted them about his card being charged. I immediately gave them my card, paid in full, and enjoyed the rest of the vacay. JUST TO BE CLEAR: I did not have or use another person's CC info, THEY STORED AND USED MY EX'S CC NUMBER. NOT ME. They asked if they could use the credit card on file, I said yes, that's it!.
Anyone with a normal since of business would have ended the issue here. I paid over $700 for a campsite and even tipped 20%, I am am stand-up guy and have no ill-will or malintent. I have a good job, no need to steal AND I DIDN'T.
But....
I found out i'm banned for life when planning a quick get away as I made a reservation. So I thought it too extreme but I moved on. I used to come there every summer and never once had any issues and I love to camp but there are other places, FINE. I will take my business elsewhere.
HERE'S WHERE IS GOES TO A DARK PLACE:
After telling me that I was banned despite the fact I paid them more than every dime and did no harm, THE OWNER WENT AND TOLD MY FRIENDS THAT I WAS A THIEF! The owner went to my friends' camper and read him over my association with him and proceeded to tell him that I was a bad guy and he didn't want people that associated with me in his camp.
I have no doubt that my ex, Nicholas Chehade, called and told them off about charging his card and probably lied/told stories... but he is my ex and he did know that he used his card the prior year under my name and knew how this happened. I did not know his card was on my account and it was THEIR FAILURE to remove it.
If you don't want my business, I will take it elsewhere. That's enough punishment. Don't further my suffering by SLANDERING me to my friends. Falsely claiming someone is a thief is illegal and it caused a my old friend to never speak to me again. The owner created a spectacle of this and if they double down on it... you are inviting that into your life if you still go here.
A good friendship is priceless and gone forever because of this guy--not what I signed up for. You are paying for an expensive campsite that could damage your social capital because OF THEIR MISTAKE.
I regret deeply ever coming here. That's honestly what happened, I...
